UFC 158: Dana White Considering Pulling Nick Diaz From Fight Against Georges St-Pierre - FanSided - Sports News - An Independent Sports Network

I agree with Dana it's b.s. and think the Diaz brothers are a couple of punks but get real. This is clearly all talk on Dana's part. He's complaining about $50,000 and supposedly he has considered pulling Diaz from the card. Right, because that won't cost you $50,000 in PPV sales.

Yeah I agree. Dana is trying to scare Diaz into fulfilling all his obligations. There's no way Dana is going to pull a headliner this close to the fight. But having said that, Diaz is a punk.

on the other subject sounds like jon fitch got cut because his fights were too boring and he was killing all the ppv's he was in. they should just start standing them up if he doesnt do anything after a takedown.

I've said for years they need to implement the rule Pride did for stalling. Give a warning, then start deducting 10% of the purse.

Ummmm UFC allows elbows on the ground man. Maybe you are thinking knees. Pride allowed knees to a downed opponent, the UFC does not.

I thought I'd seen fighters throw a few knees to the side when they're wrapped up. Or Silva's knee to Sonnen.

Unless you're referencing knees to the head.

I think he's worried about a true 155er coming down. Edgar as everyone know is much better suited for 145 and didn't cut weight at 155. Now you have a bigger 155er like Pettis coming down to 145 who could easily be 160+ on fight night. I don't think Aldo's camp should be ducking the fight but I can't say I don't understand it...

FYP

Bones Jones' one L is for coming down on his opponent "12 to 6"..."3 to 6" and "9 to 6" is allowed, but not "12 to 6"*. It was the first time I had heard of the rule.

*And if you're on the ground and go 6 to midnight it's an automatic DQ, no warning.

I thought about putting that but I was lazy and figured everyone knew that. Especially after the Bones-Hamill fight. Its a stupid rule btw, only put in because guys break blocks with the 12-6. I actually thought me and you had the 12-6 rule once, coulda been someone else. I'll be less lazy in the future, and less presumptuous in thinking everyone will just know what I mean. :)
