UGA Coach Rodney Garner To Remain With Bulldogs

no offense but that just reads like Hubbs' opinion. He has no more inside info at UGA than he does at UT
You're right, I never said it was 100% true. I just had said I had heard thats what would happen. Its pretty logical though, why would UGA pay CRG 400,000+ when they're coordinators don't make that much.

It's just business. UT offered, UGa countered, and Garner took what he saw as the best deal for him. I've done the same thing. Although, I'm usually hesitant to accept a counter offer. My position is 'If I'm worth that to you now, why wasn't I worth that 24 hours ago?' I don't like it when I have to get another offer before my current employer will pay what I'm worth.

Anyway, he is a great recruiter and I would've liked him back here, but it's hardly the end of the world.
Good Post

For you Bleecher.

Hubbs

Unless the AD opens up the pocket book to give alot of guys raises, I don't see Georgia paying Rodney 400k and paying him more money then they are paying coordinators. It has to have some balance.

Bleecher?

Was that to be taken as a insult.

Or, is your spelling efforts just that bad?

There is also information that there were discussions of him getting a defensive position, but his response was he appreciated it but he didn't want to disturb the "chemistry" of the "plan" on defense. Not real convincing if you ask me.

this is absolutely the only problem i have with the whole thing. if your wife didn't want to come, just say it. if you didn't want to move your kids, just say it. however, don't say, when you knew what positions were taken before you showed up for the interview (widely reported that O was coaching DL), that you wanted to stay on the defensive side of the ball and, when offered DL (something you obviously indicated you wanted since there was talk of O moving to LB), don't say you don't want to mess up kiff's plan, all the while getting a 70% raise, and expect everyone to say - 'ok, makes sense'.

rg: i want to coach with you and monte.
kiff: we have a spot on offense.
rg: i'm listening.
kiff: why don't you and your wife come in and we'll talk.
sat ....
rg: great dinner, thanks. i like what you've got going here. i was hoping to stay on defense, but am enthused nonetheless. i'll let you know something tomorrow.
kiff: we'll have a plane waiting for you.
sun ....
rg: hi kiff, i'm thinking i'll stay. defense is really important to me .... wait, there's somebody at the door .... it's monte, what tha ... ?
O in the background: tell him y'all did that to ole yaw, yaw also.
monte: lane, o and i have talked and would like to offer you a position on defense.
rg: monte, let me say it's an honor having you in my crib
monte: huh?
rg: i'm really enthused again
kiff, monte, o: we'll send a plane for you tomorrow.
rg: sweet. see you tomorrow
mon...
mrs. rg: you fool, where you think you're going?
rg: errr.... tha dog looked like he needed some air???
....
kiff: hello?
rg(whispering): lane .... synergy, bad

OK... So now I'm hearing that Lane plans on sending another plane to UGA on (01/06/2009) to re-sell Garner's family on Knoxville... No Source.. Just what I've heard..

Come on guys. Garner isn't coming. He got what he probably really wanted. More Money. He has made his choice already. Hell they had a press conference. Didn't they?

Low's report is the only thing I am going off of.

Which said he was not giving up on Garner, and Low also said it seemed like Lane has a open checkbook to get him.

According to Chris Low of ESPN. Nobody told Lane.

Do you all honestly think he is going to reconsider? After accepting the offer from UGA. I want him hear as bad as anyone. I hope you all are right. But I just don't think it happens after all this.

Maybe CLK hasn't given up on Rodney Garner ..... for future years. We'll need a new D-line coach to start the 2012 (or so...) season when Coach O takes over for Monte....of course, Garner should be a DC himself somewhere by that time (or head coach).

I never said it would change his mind. Low thought enough of what he heard to report it. That is all Im saying.

Let's clarify this to a 5th grade level. Coach Kiffin is offering more money now to Garner because Lowe reported it?
