Word on the street is that Richt got the President of UGA to get involved to up his budget, giving Rodney more money and allowing his family to stay where they wanted to.

Garner would have been the best pickup yet for CLK IMO.

Ole Sylvester used to coach running backs for Ray Perkins at the Bucs,,,,, I think he can handle just about any postion and he would be a great asset to the staff.

Rodney just got some respect from UGA,,, which is really what he wanted.

I think we should throw the bank at Gonzo...but hopefully he wants to actually come here and wont be trying to get a raise. You're welcome to all these coaches who are going to get raises because of UT's checkbook.

Long overdue, IMO.....

Good for RG! It may take alittle longer for the indoor practice facilty to be built at UGA.

Disagree, he knew what titles were still available and used our offer as his bargaining chip to get more money. He pretty much wasted everyone's time in the process. That may be the game however I'm not convinced he was truly interested in K-Town.

for real. i hope this isn't a growing trend and we're going to keep entertaining aspiring coaches who want more cheese.

and he should have done it. Many more assistants are going to be doing so in the future. That tab just got more expensive in the SEC.

Exactly, as I stated in an earlier thread, the ADs from other programs have now been put on notice....if UT and CLK wants one of your own you had better be prepared to dig deep in the wallet to keep em'.

Sounds to me like coaching on the offensive side of the ball instead of defense was a big deal to him.

Just like how Garner was a sure thing? You should start including "IMO" in your posts.
Garner was a done deal, but then Mark Richt got the President of the University involved to up his budget then everything went haywire.

FWIW, Garner could potentially become DC much quicker at UGA than he could here....
