UGA is vulnerable

Georgia's offense has weapons that will test the UT defense. Kentucky's success with the running game against the DL is a concern.
Kentucky really had 1 big run play which was the first run and I thought our defense might have gotten bitten by our crowd on that play because it looked like they couldn't communicate before the play. I'm not impressed by UGA on offense. Baron from KY is probably better than all of their skill players. Also think Bama had a better offense than UGA. If we could keep Bama under 20 we can do it to UGA.

Because they hit one big pass to their TE who was uncovered due to a blitz? Ok sure
Ikr they say ridiculous things. If we couldn't cover we damn sure wouldn't have a top 3 defense in the country. I swear it seems like some fans think we're playing Playstation or something. This is what SEC football looks like. You're not going to beat teams 50-0. They got great athletes too and will make some plays

I knew this thread would be made after the UGA/UF game. Vol fans doing their usual overreacting. Oh UGA looks vulnerable. Boy they looked vulnerable against TX didn’t they? The UGA/UF game is a huge rivalry game where anything can happen. It’s like the iron bowl. How many years did Saban have the better team by a wide margin yet AU plays them tight or even beats them?

UGA is our kryptonite. Now that TAMU has lost it’s getting more wide open. UGA will not overlook us like they did UK and UF. Expect another bad loss in Athens.

Georgia is better than anyone we have played including Bama.
Bama's roster has a higher composite recruiting score than UGA's does. And Bama has a significantly better offense than UGA does with better skill position players and, imo, a better QB (certainly more dangerous).

Granted, we play in Athens and not at home, but I don't see UGA being a tougher to beat than Bama was

Agreed.

An ideal week 11 for the Vols would include:

Vols beat Miss St (obviously)
UGa beats Ole Miss, puts the stake in Kiffin's playoff heart
Bama eliminates LSU once and for all

And then two very unlikely assists:

FL finds a way to give Texas another loss; and
Oklahoma finishes off Mizzou

I say those are both super unlikely, but I don't actually believe it's a stretch for Oklahoma to expose Mizzou as the poser they have been this season (again).

~ ~ ~

All that happens, and week 12 would see the Vols and Dawgs facing off as the only remaining SEC teams with a single loss on the season.

A&M would be the only other team with a single loss in conference play, but I'm thinking Texas eliminates them in week 14.

Go Vols!
Na... anytime Bama loses it's a good thing !

Yet Bama beat them. Kentucky had them on the ropes. And Florida was tied with them in the 4th with their 3rd string walk-on QB playing most of the game.

They might be our toughest opponent but not by much. This ain't the Georgia of old. They're a very beatable opponent.

Tennessee can 100% win this game and may be favored in it.

On a yards per play basis, UT is .25 better on defense on conference play and UGA is .8 better on offense. Against 3 common opponents (all of which UT had at home and none of which UGA had at home) UGA did better on offense ypp against Bama (+1 ypp) and Florida (+1.5 ypp) while UT did better against UK (+1 ypp). On defense, UT was 4 yards better ypp against bama (!!!), while UGA was 1.7 better against UK and Florida.

Seems like a close game to me that leans UGA on paper—until you start counting turnovers. Then it’s UT going away.

Let's just take care of Miss St first. We should blast them. Any hint of a struggle is cause for concern.

Regardless of what happens in Athens, Tennessee will not be the betting favorite at any point in time prior to kickoff. I can promise you that.

That's a reasonable take. I think this game will be a rock fight with Georgia having the edge at home.

I dunno about that.

Georgia has been very inconsistent .... even from one half to the next. They trailed Alabama 28-0 early in the 2nd quarter. They trailed Kentucky in the 4th quarter. Their game with Florida was similar to ours, until the last 5 minutes.

I think they will lose badly @ Ole Miss next Saturday. They are indeed vulnerable.

You can expect whatever you want .... That's not what I expect. Georgia is not that good.

Ah, BOT, reliably a bigger Georgia homer than the actual UGA fans on the board.

UGA does what we do and plays up/down to competition. No way they come out flat against us. We will get their best. That being said they are mistake prone on offense. Whoever loses the turnover battle will be in bad shape.

UGA is a better football team, overall, but they are not perfect. We need to score though, we will not likely be able to win with less than 28 points assuming our defense plays well.

Their TE was covered up by our Tackle and he was eligible Receiver. We didn’t account for him …. Communication not because they blitzed

Hate to say it, but better for us if Georgia beats Ole Miss. If we beat Georgia, it makes it a good win and if we drop a close one you want it to be a “good” loss; much like college basketball.

I hate to say it, but I’ll be that guy. I’ll believe we beat UGA when I see it. They haven’t just beaten us these last 7 games. They’ve humiliated us. I expect the team to lay it all on the line, but it probably won’t be enough. As long as we take care of business in the other games, we’ll reach the goal for this season of getting in the dance.
