I do not EVER want to read another thread on here about the sports world not respecting UT. A #2 seed? You play Winthrop and then, like, Billy Ray Valentine? Stunning. I mean, a solid #4 and perhaps a #3 if everything fell into place, but a #2 seed is absurd. Those guys are on crack.

At any rate, neither me (nor the rest of the non-crack smoking world, evidently) gets a vote. So good luck to you (as I walk off shaking my head in utter disbelief)....

They probably are... Tennessee getting a 2-seed is absolutely insane. I would say I support it regardless but I get the feeling it came at the expense of my Zags, who now have to play either San Diego State or Indiana in the second round (both very dangerous teams) then probably UCLA after that. Oh well... Win it to stay in it, I guess.

I was just as shocked as you. But then I picked my jaw off the floor and cheered. :biggrin2:

I think it's because it is on CBS, not ESPN. :p

I gotta admit your right . I picked the vOls way down at 7th seed because of the no love for orange facor. I'll be having white whine with my crow.....

At the expense of the Zags...you do mean the most overrated team of the past 5 years! Maybe Gonzaga should have jumped ship on the WCC last year and stepped into a real conference. I am sorry but racking up over 16 of your wins against San Francisco, USD, St. Mary's, and the like is not impressive.

You realize, don't you, that the talking heads are going to make you the team that everyone expects to see fail? Sort of the reverse wise guy pick. Although I have to say my gosh you have a pretty easy road to the second weekend.

Well law gator, maybe your Gators should have done something about it earlier this season. We gave you 2 chances, except that Lee Humphrey can't seem to get his head into games against us. You guys can have him though, his departure from East Tennessee just left the roster spot open for Chris Lofton.

Dude, LSU wins the SEC overall, has a better record, makes it to the tournament semis ... and end up behind you? Its not how you did versus one team (ask FSU, the team that beat Duke).

I understand that...LSU had a pretty weak non-conference schedule. Come to think of it, so did UF. Apparently, people who know a lot more about basketball than you and your gator and carolina fan friends, believe that beating Texas on the road, playing tough @ OSU, and giving Memphis a run for their money on the road, on top of what we did in the SEC East, is deserving of a #2 seed.

Doesn't matter... Tennessee absolutely sputtered down the stretch and did everything necesarry to cough up that #2 seed. Gonzaga goes undefeated in conference play (I don't care if the conference is weak, going undefeated in nearly any conference is tough) and plays an insane non-conference schedule, with Maryland, Michigan State, UConn, Washington and Memphis among others, all of which were tight games. Having to beat SDSU/IU then UCLA is going to be insane...

Yeah, Florida's weak non-conference schedule, beating the team that won the Big East tournament, a team that reached the ACC semifinals, and a team that finished 5th overall in the ACC.

At any rate, this is not about Florida's seed, its about yours, which most of the thinking people on here seem to agree is a bit high.

ESPN is following the Vols around during the tourney so this does make sense.

Nice try, but if ESPN had anything to do with it, they would have had us in a tougher game as a lower seed.

Clean out the guest bedroom, OWB's coming to town.

I respect that. I said solid 4 and maybe even a 3, which is saying you ought to be in Sweet 16. But a 2? Come on!

It most definitely matters what conference you play in. Yes, they played well against Maryland, MSU, UConn, Wash., and Memphis...then won 20 games against competition in which the best team was...St. Mary's or Portland, I don't know.

Good point. Zags make an early exit this year, as usual.
