UK is a dangerous game.

Laugh if you want but you can throw stats out the window in some games. Kentucky has had this date circled all year. Beating Tennessee makes their season a success regardless of how lack luster it’s been to this point. This is just another game to us but it’s the game they’ve prepared for all year.

We could and should stomp the hell out of them bc we match up really well with their weaknesses but there’s been several games in the past where we should’ve blown them out.

They won’t beat us.

You’re worrying over nothing.

I'm confident, but nervous. No reason we shouldn't handle Kentucky based on how we've been playing and at home, but still uneasy about this one.

I think the Kentucky players will come in feeling like they should've won last year and that, along with an extra week to watch film, game plan and prep, will give them confidence. That they're playing the #3 ranked team and would derail our momentum and chances of playing for an SEC and Nat'l Championship is extra motivation, just as it was ours against that red team to the South.

You should beat KY. Vols are playing lights out right now. KY beat the Gators because Richardson threw two of the worst picks you’ll ever see.

That pick 6 was absolutely the worst, cost them the game. Hooker doesn't throw that ball, Young doesn't throw that ball....

IDK, i dont like their throwing game vs our D. I dont understand why we give 10-15 yards cushion to WRs yet. We gave up 400 yards of offense to UT-Martin. i love our team, but no way is playing this style defense sustainable. Kentucky may not be able to take advantage of it. But others will. I dont expect this to be a blow out. I expect Kentucky to play keep away. drain the clock and run 5yard hitch routes. Might be a long night if they do that. Just my two cents

The only way Kentucky has any chance is if we sleepwalk in this game. Given the fact that Heupel's teams are ready to play right out of the gate, I'm not too concerned about this possibility. If the Tennessee team that showed up against Bama shows up Saturday, this game will be a blowout (something along the lines of 52-20).

Other teams will take advantage of it? Who? Florida couldn’t. LSU couldn’t and neither could Alabama. What other team besides maybe Georgia can?

everyone talking about our secondary being able to stop their passing game forgets that Levis can't make the throws lying on his back all night, and that's where he will be

I realize you can't compare one year's team with another and the only thing that counts is the final score but some sobering numbers from last year:

TOTAL YARDS.......UT 261 UK 612

Passing.................UT 316 UK 387

Rushing ................UT 145 UK 225

Furst Downs.........UT 17 UK 35

Turnovers..............UT 1 UK 1

TOP......................UT 13:52 UK 46:08

Why is that "sobering"? That was the best team UK has ever had. They lost several key players and some good enough to be drafted.

Meanwhile, how much better is UT now than last year?

UK got worse. UT got better.

It is dangerous but if the Vols are for real they’ll dispose of the butt lickin’, turd burying house cats

because media pumps them up with inflated stats with out considering what happened in the game,, I mean Kentucky has a better team then Alabama according to those stats so yeah..

Actually, Kentucky's best team was the 1950 squad coached by Bear Bryant that went 11-1, lost to Tennessee 7-0 and beat Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. They finished 7th in both polls, which were, of course, released prior to the bowl season. They somehow managed to finish 10-1 in 1977, which was good enough for a 6th-place finish in the AP poll. However, they were on probation, so they were not ranked in the Coaches poll.

I think the key to how we do against any good team is the O line.
And I still don’t know exactly what to expect from them.
They struggle to pick up short yardage against
Akron or UTM sometime and then they look great against Bama. Small and Wright both under 4.0 ypr against UTM but was much better against LSU and Bama.
Play like they did against Bama and we have no trouble against UK.
But if it’s a game they have false starts and mistakes and lose the battle of the line it might
Get close.

Bunch of cream puffs in here.

Someone tell me the last time Heupel didn't have the team ready to play...

This team is built different. They handle their business and are ready to play every week. Kentucky us gonna get smoked in Neyland Saturday night.
This game is dangerous for Kentucky. Tennessee could give them such a pounding that they limp through the rest of the season and finish 7-5 sending them to the Music City Bowl or Liberty Bowl.
