UK is a dangerous game.

They are a ranked team with pretty good defense and a good offense with Levis. They also have a bye week before TN week. They just beat a ranked Miss State team too. It would be easy for this team to look ahead to UGA and lay an egg against UK.

Just my thoughts.
Well back in the day we always had a bye week before Florida; did it matter?
Heup teams don't lay eggs.

UF doesn’t look like they are close to putting it together, so you might want to revisit that timeline.

UF's defense is below par for the SEC. The offense is erratic. That state of affairs is EXACTLY what everyone expected. So, not disappointed.

On the flip side I'd say that UT is playing well above expectations. Not so much defensively. Clearly the weak spot but that is also not a surprise. Offensively you are simply much better than expected. Expectations were high, to be sure, but I imagine everyone would agree that this year's UT offense is substantially better than expected, even then.

If we are talking the future, I think if you are honest you recognize just how absolutely critical Hooker is to all of this. He reminds me of Mahomes and in fact I'd say he means as much to your team as Mahomes means to KC.

He's a special player. Certainly I think has to be mentioned at top of Heisman list.

I thought UT would win. Everyone did. You seem to think it bothers me when it does not.

It would bother me next year when you are without Hooker and AR has had more time to mature and develop. But I'm thinking this team may be your last best opportunity to make the playoffs for awhile so enjoy that ride!

Quite frankly I don't really care what bothers you or what doesn't, and I don't know who actually would. Not surprised that you don't get it yet, it's probably the same for most of you that haven't watched Heupel work for the last year and a half.

He continues to say "we're just getting started", and seeing how he develops talent and is ramping up recruiting it isn't really hard to see that this guy has a plan that extends beyond when Hendon Hooker is no longer the QB here.

I get that the reality that UT is back to stay bothers you and others to no end, but it's something you might want to get used to. The barn door has been kicked in, and we aren't going away.

Hoping our D-Line has a HUGE IMPACT that seems to be their weakness. But yes I agree 💯

Looking ahead past this dub? ;)

I genuinely believe the players when they say they treat every game like the championship. We don’t have to worry about these kids or staff overlooking anyone.

Heuple doesn’t over look games… Our DL will dominate UKs OL… Rodriguez will be minimized and Levis will be under pressure all night… UT steam rolls UK by at least 3 tds get that bvs out your system… listen to heup they prepare the same way no matter the opponent and the team is 100% bought in… enjoy the ride.
I hope you are right

Hopefully the fact they beat us last game is Neyland will be plenty of motivation.

Also the pressure in this game should all be on Kentucky. I've sat and listened all summer up here in the Bluegrass to their media talk about Atlanta being a realistic goal and anything less will not be moving the program forward. They have to have this game or those dreams are over. For us, while it might hurt our at-large playoff aspirations, the East will essentially be decided the following week in Athens. The pressure should 100% all be on them.

They're all dangerous. They have been for awhile now. The difference now is that we have a team that can win those "dangerous games". The rebuild continues. We are way ahead of schedule, and we still have a ways to go before we are officially back, but this team just seems to have an "it" factor on offense, and that factor is Hendon Hooker. We need another two solid recruiting classes before our depth (and talent) is anywhere near on par with UGA and Bama. But we're headed in the right direction for the first time in a long time. So enjoy the ride.

Personally, I would not be surprised to see our production at the QB position drop off next year, so the running game and (especially) defense will have to improve if we are to continue the current trend. But all signs are there that UT Football is back.

We're the current hot chick at the dance in CFB right now. But all it takes is one loss for those headlines to read "Vols Flame Out Against (insert team name)". So I'd hold off on the Heupel tattoo until the Vols put a full season together. If they can do that, then we know that this staff can get the most out of this team. Game after game.

Go Vols.

Umm we okay UT Martin next. Don’t get ahead of ourselves!

Kentucky absolutely can beat us if we don’t bring our A game. Seriously hate is a funny thing. Look at Auburn last season, Bama should’ve blown them out but Barn lost only bc their RB didn’t stay in bounds.

I agree that our guys had better take it seriously, and I'm sure they will. Need to get after their QB and make it a rough night for him. If we can do that, I think we can win comfortably. If not, it could be close.

1. You never want to bring a lackluster effort (See KY vs SCAR a week ago)
2. KY defense was exposed badly by SCAR rushing.
3. KY OL has been a weakness all season, slightly better yesterday but I think Levis still got sacked 5 times.
4. Crowd noise, especially if a late game will be unkind to the kitties.
5. KY does have a bye week to prep for us though.

BooooM ! Spot ON !!!

They are all dangerous. We have a much bigger target on our back now than we have had in 2 decades. Except for Georgia, who will rightly be favoured, every other remaining team on our schedule will see the UT game as their Super Bowl
A LOT has changed in the past month in the SEC landscape. The speed of our rise from unranked to probable top 4 is something I haven’t seen in my lifetime.

UTM and Vandy aren't

sorry, quoted that incorrectly.

UTM, Vandy are games that can be won by playing starters 1st quarter only.

Since Heupel has been here I couldn't point to a game we've lost and say "they were looking ahead to somebody else". We look prepared in every game we play in. The team will not look beyond Kentucky to Georgia. They'll be ready for Kentucky. I expect we hang a double digit loss on the Wildcats.

I’m actually thrilled Kentucky beat State, and will remain ranked, so that they can become the 5th ranked team we beat this season. It’ll make it a just a little sweeter.
