UK is a dangerous game.

If we are talking the future, I think if you are honest you recognize just how absolutely critical Hooker is to all of this. He reminds me of Mahomes and in fact I'd say he means as much to your team as Mahomes means to KC.

.
That's wishful thinking on your part. I love Hooker. Great guy. He operates the O like a maestro. That said... Heupel schemes guys open better than anyone in CFB. Young continually had to fit balls into tight windows vs UT or scramble around on broken field plays. Hooker was "clean" the whole game. He had guys running open on almost every play. I don't want to discount how good he is at all. But don't be shocked when Milton steps in and has a great year next year... followed by Jackson or Nico.

UT is starting to get better talent on D. They need some upgrades. Long term success or failure lie in how well Heupel and his staff do that. The O isn't going away no matter how much you may wish it would.

Can't believe we still have doubters. We'll beat KY by at least 3 TDs. I've watched most of their games and they are their own worst enemy.

Insane isn’t it? Beat a ranked Pitt. UK is dangerous. Beat a ranked UF and LSU. UK is dangerous. Beat Bama? UK is dangerous. Some are looking at the MSU game and thinking UK is a really good team. They aren’t. MSU offense isn’t on our level. Bamas defense is better than UK and Hooker shredded them.

I honestly don’t know what this team has to accomplish before some fans realize the days of worrying about teams like UK, SC and Missouri are over.

I think it will be a tough game. We saw the advantage our bye gave us against LSU. IMO the same for Kentucky. Our offense is so unique that is just impossible to prepare for in a given week. But maybe less so, for a defense oriented team in two weeks. Besides for them, beating us is akin to us beating the Gators, it's season defining success. We will get their best game with perhaps the SEC's best pure quarterback. If we can't get to their QB, with our (non-existent) secondary, I expect another track meet to 40.

I do love that we have a scrimmage beforehand, to get some semblance of what the back end is going to look like, with all our injuries and suspensions.

Levis has been sacked 20x so far this year, getting to him doesn’t seem to a problem for anyone. He’s a turnover machine. They want to run the ball game in and game out and especially against us to limit possessions. The problem for them, is they haven’t been able to run it effectively, consistently against anyone outside of State this weekend. They avg. 37 rushing attempts/game for a cool 3.1 yards/rush. I don’t think they’re capable of beating us on the ground and I don’t trust Levis to beat us consistently through the air, even as bad as we’ve been on the back end.

They are a ranked team with pretty good defense and a good offense with Levis. They also have a bye week before TN week. They just beat a ranked Miss State team too. It would be easy for this team to look ahead to UGA and lay an egg against UK.

Just my thoughts.

I absolutely agree OP. Hooker should only play 1 and a half quarter this upcoming week then play Milton the rest of the game.

Tennessee should immediately start practicing for and game planning for Kentucky exclusively starting today. Dangerous trap game.

They can easily best us if we don't bring our A game. Our secondary is our biggest weakness and like you said, they do actually play defense.

It might be a tough game but KY won’t be able to keep up. KY beat Florida because the QB handed them the game with two of the worst INTs you’ll ever see. Looking forward to UT-UGA.

One thing that worries me (and I'm always worried about something) is injuries....especially to Hooker. We don't beat Florida...Pitt...LSU or certainly not Bama if Milton is under center. I guess every top program is screwed if their Qb goes down....but still.

Actually, under Stoops, I think the opposite has been true. The worst game that Kentucky typically plays all season is Tennessee. There is no doubt that Stoops has done a good job, but the Tennessee series taints him. He is just 2-7 against us.
I can't stand Stoops. So arrogant!!! Saban is my best friend compared to Stoops....

UK will come out on absolute fire !!!
Nothing in the world would redeem their season more than knocking us off and being the spoilers.

It will be very critical for us to quench that fire early and get our crowd into the game.

Don't overlook them. Especially the worst thing could happen is a bad weather day that mucks up our passing game.

Well.. Pitt took us to overtime and UK is better than Pitt. Florida was in the game until the last drive … UK beat Florida.. Gotta give us more than half a season before we don’t worry about other teams.
It’s not necessarily a knock on how good we think we are- more of being realistic that even great teams fall all the time.

The day we or any other SEC team doesn't take their SEC opponent serious is the day they lose.

At this point I think one key thing is health. Get people back and healthy (and stay healthy) to make this stretch run and take it one game at a time (probably biggest cliché in sports but none more true). We stay in the moment and I’m sure we can compete in every single game.
