UMASS at Florida

Del Rio played very well. Light years ahead of what we had in Harris. And he'll only get better. I was very pleased.

The problems were o line was fair, and drive killing penalties. Both can be fixed.

With a still very good defense and a much improved offense, Florida could have a better than expected year. V

I mean, he was pretty average at best. Complete blown coverage on his first TD pass (didn't see his second)

5.8 yd/attempt against the 96th ranked pass defense from last year. That would have finished 2nd to last in the SEC last year, just ahead of Johnny McCrary

Although he will probably be an upgrade to Treon.

I'll take average over Treon Harris. I'll take below average over Treon Harris. Hot garbage on fire is better than Treon Harris.

Your second paragraph is all over the place. Comparing Del Rio's stats in his first ever start to McCrary's season stats, using UMass pass defense stats from the previous year....without taking into account the no fewer than three drops by UF receivers on the few downfield passes Del Rio attempted. Makes perfect sense.

But sure, Del Rio and McCrary are two peas in a pod.

Florida fans, what are your thoughts on florida's offense vs tennessee's defense given the performance of the first games.

Del Rio will be fine.

If Anzalone stays healthy I'm bullish on our defense. We played both backups at CB most of the night. Didn't see much of Quincy Wilson, and unfortunately we saw too much Williamson.

However our OL is well below average. Big concerns there.

I mean, other teams have dropped passes every week too. That isn't limited to just UF. Weak sauce.

He was average against the lowest ranked team in FBS. You can try to make it sound better than it was, again, I get that. We all do it as fans.

He's better than Treon, so be happy with that.

And you can make it sound as if Del Rio completed 30% of his passes with three picks against Ooltewah HS...we all do that as fans too.

Now now let's not get dramatic.

I thought he was pretty average vs a very bad FBS team. Nothing more, nothing less.

How so?

Dobbs, given all the hype and expectations, was far more underwhelming than Del Rio in Week 1.

Journeyman QB making his first start versus the Heisman candidate.

Lol @ Heisman candidate

Hahahahahahahaha

Keep comparing Del Rio to Dobbs passing skills, please. If they are in the same ballpark throwing the football down the field, I feel better about our chances in week 4.

And stop moving the goal post...as if you can make an argument refuting my claim that Dobbs' Week 1 performance was a bigger disappointment than Del Rio.

That's not to say Del Rio is a better QB than Dobbs, but come on man...Dobbs came in with hype we haven't seen in Knoxville since #16. The expectations for these guys are completely different.

UF got about what it expected in Week 1, UT did not. All subject to change of course.

No one has changed the goalposts except you and your buddy when you try to compare him to Dobbs. You got mad that I called Del Rio's performance what it was, average at best.

I understand you are excited to have anyone other than Treon back there. I get it. That said, there's a reason Del Rio is at his 3rd school and, before last night, had 18 career passes since 2013.

Hope springs eternal though.

Honestly, if you're a Tennessee fan, 4 years of Eason at GA and Del Rio at FL should worry you a little bit. For true freshman, both look pretty good.

D line is going to have a field day on the O line. That goes for both Tennessee and Florida. Both offensive lines played poorly IMHO and were handled by smaller D lines.
