UNC basketball

you've gone from arguing about Duke wimping out of the game, when all evidence points to the charter company telling Duke they can't make the trip.

So then you changed it to Duke being scared of OOC and/or road games.

Then you argued how we argued.

Along the way, you kept going back in forth between these arguments when you were laughed out of your current one.

Once again, I'll ask you, how is this the charter company's fault? The forecast was made far in advance. Duke had time to prepare. Classes were cancelled mid-day. Fans, yes, UNC fans, were en route to the game, when it was cancelled. This was not about fan safety, to say the least.

And for the record, a BBQ company from Durham made it in just fine. Look it up. I highly doubt a charter company told Duke they couldn't make it. Seriously? More like Duke told them not to bother.

What have I said thus far that doesn't prove my point? And I mean OOC road games. Not Duke v. whomever at Madison Square Garden, per usual.

Then you argued how we argued.

I'm not following you here. Explain.

Of course, because you guys are not presenting me with a viable argument. Present me with a viable argument, then we'll talk.

Am I the only person in the world that recognizes the fact that Duke doesn't play OOC away games?

Volfanbill, don't get too upset with this character. He's too dumb to realize he has lost. I have a brother in law who is a UNC grad and he actually can carry on an intelligent conversation about many subjects.

What's your argument? How have I lost? You guys keep acting like you've won some sort of debate; however, you've proven absolutely nothing. I keep asking you to respond to Duke's OOC scheduling, and you all keep dodging. Further, if you think a charter company told Duke to shove it last night, you're more misled than I am.

I recognize it. Critics of UF football like to point out we don't travel outside of Tallahassee for OOC games.

It's like picking gnat $h!t off a piece of rice.

Duke basketball isn't any less legit or elite because they don't travel for OOC games.

Oh, I have no doubt they're a good team. They just don't like to schedule legitimate OOC road games, unlike UNC.

Right, typically they play in neutral site games/tournaments instead.

Precisely. And I might add that UNC does the same thing...in addition to scheduling true OOC road games that are not mandated by the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. As you've no doubt noticed by now, none of these University of New Jersey fans have been able to substantiate a legitimate Duke OOC schedule (besides neutral games). And yet, I'm the guy who apparently can't make a good argument.

By the way, UNC women's bball beat the hell out of Pitt tonight. Pitt arrived in Chapel Hill last night.

and again, I'll repeat. It's infinitely easier for a POV to get there than a bus. A bus that was chartered, that can pull the rights to travel at any time based on the weather, whether it be for Duke, UNC or any other customer. I would think UNC fans would understand that. But you clearly don't.

So you think Duke works for a chartered bus instead of the other way around?

And, as I've said numerous times already, none of this matters: fact is that Duke could have planned in advance. None of you Jerseyites have been able to explain the Tar Heels trip to GT two weeks ago. Let's just put it this way: thank goodness their travel tenure wasn't up to Duke University.

This is getting tiresome. I'd expect Jerseyistes to have better arguments than this.

The contract is with the chartered company. It's funny that you think a college athletic department is important enough it can decide the safety and welfare of chartered bus's drivers. It's sad you get to teach.

Just admit one of two things:

1. K was scared of how his boys would handle 15 to 20,000 UNC students.
2. K didn't think his boys could deal with the adversity of messing with the typical Carolina travel routine.

Either way, it's pathetic. As I've said, spin it how you will. But asks yourselves this (even you Roy haters, and I know you're out there [you, Lawrence]), do you think the game would have been postponed last night had it been scheduled at Duke? I'm admittedly a homer, but to be honest, I think UNC makes that trip and game-on. Of course that's going to always be mere speculation.

It's funny that you don't know enough about business to know that DUKE UNIVERSITY MEN'S BBALL WILL DETERMINE ANY CONTRACT MADE WITH A LOWLY CHARTER COMPANY. Sorry, I just felt I had to capitalize that.

Anyhow, what is your connection to Duke? They seem to mean a lot to you.

no, I'm just pointing out the flaws in your argument. I've worked in a handful of different college athletic departments before joining the military. A chartered bus contract through Duke, UNC, Tennessee, Alabama, etc would be the same to the chartered bus company as any other high profile client. The chartered bus company would always reserve the to deem conditions too perilous for their drivers.

And stop attacking my teaching position. I've been fair to you today, and you keep attacking me on that end. I've argued circles around you, despite your weak protestations. As I said, your children are better off with me teaching them.

I don't think a Duke basketball fan has anything to apologize for. Duke isn't mandated to schedule OOC road games, so they don't.

No different than the Oregon fan here claiming UF was a "regional" football program because we don't schedule OOC road games other than FSU...who just happens to be pretty damn good.

You're struggling. But I appreciate at least some attempt at an honest response. If Duke wanted to make that game they'd fire those charter a-holes in a second. You can't convince me that the Duke works for the bus company. I'll never buy that. I mean, seriously, gas station and grocery store workers have to make it in no matter what. You're telling me that a bus driver can't make it in to pick up Duke's bball team? Stop drinking Coach K's bathwater.

you've argued circles around me by trying to argue that this is on Coach K when the chartered bus told Duke they couldn't make it? Ummmk.
