Peyton probably should have won it, but it's not a career award. He had bad games on the road at Florida(our biggest regular season game at the time) and then a bad game against Vandy at the end of the season right before voting. On the same day, Woodson had an INT TD, a punt return for a TD and a offensive reception for a TD to lead Michigan over OSU and a date for the national championship. I don't disagree with you, but the hype for Woodson went right through the roof after his end of season prowess. Timing was everything in MHO. There's been several years with controversy over the award

ESPN marketing helped CW immensely that year

Their coverage helped CW as much as his on-field performance.

How many defensive players have won since?

Come on bro. Obama got it for being half black and his daddy didn't love or care about him. His grandparents raised him and he said his grandmother was a typical white woman. That's all we need to know about the Nobel... except why his white mother refused to raise him.

A country that is not a country is not included in the agreement. Seems reasonable to me. Clearly UAE does not give a **** about Palestine. Pretending that peace in the Middle East depended on appeasing an imaginary country is why the Obama administration did nothing but make the region worse for 8 years.

Keith Jackson and ABC did waaaaaaaaay more than ESPN did. KJ practically slobbered every time he mentioned CW. It was disgusting. I lost so much respect for him as a play by play man that year.

No arab country does GAS about the "Palestinians". All they are is a convenient scourge that they can use to fight a proxy war with Israel and not get their own hands dirty. Golf claps all around
