DP, You da man.


I've blended Baylor & Arkansas number pattern and this is the best that I could find. I'm not asking if this is it because I know we are "One" Tennessee & Butch likes to stand out but I am asking if these are pretty close?

Point is, every manufacturer has misses. Can we please stop with the belly-aching, when we haven't even seen the damn uniforms yet??

Anybody who photo shops could probably read through DPs posts and come up with a pretty close mock up of our uniforms. Basically last years playoff template with a number hybrid of Baylor and Arkansas unis. Could use either number font and get really close to what we will wear. I wish I could Photoshop.

I don't think the new uniforms will be that bad. Of course, some people like to nitpick every single thread of the jersey. I don't know if I even want to read the thread when the uniforms are released, as there will be some complaining about the collar, or sleeves or something stupid like that.

Its just fodder for off season quarrel, due to boredom. Once the season starts, nitpicking the coaches starts back.

Can we not just have our jerseys simple and classic like Alabama's are? Our tradition is very similar to theirs and they don't have the flashy uniform that's being hinted to in this thread.

PLEASE, UTAD, just change the logo and let's play football.

The goal with the uniforms is to satisfy both the traditional and the "flashy" groups. In the end, I think UT and Nike accomplished that goal. We'll see if the fans agree in 55 days.

All the companies put out garbage every once in a while. And Adidas never made any abortions for UT like they did with Kansas, so I don't care how bad they screwed those uniforms up.

My issue with Nike is more with the level of control and input the university has over the final product. From hearing DP talk about it in the past, Adidas and UT were on a very good working relationship where they treated us like a very picky client that they were trying to impress/win approval. The impression that I have gotten with Nike is that they don't hold their client's preferences as a priority. Nike schools will wear what Nike wants them to wear. This year it might be a slightly goofy looking checkerboard on the shoulder. Next year they might decide it is time to freshen up our logo with some cool ghost flames and diamond checker plate. Just not really excited about the prospect of having our traditional uniforms in the hands of mad men who aren't interested in our school's opinion.

This has been my source of hesitation from the get go. I feel like being considered a top tier brand to the apparel company entitles the school to have a stronger veto power. Seems like the lower the tier, the more it becomes "you take what we give you"

Would you like us to put houndstooth in the end zones and numbers on the sides of our helmets as well?
