Uniform/Helmet/Shoe design thread (merged)

So was it always going to be a secret? Because there would be a ****load of backlash after the release regardless of whether or not it was kept a secret.

Was suppose to be a secret until I think on July 1st not sure how much info was to be released then, only that nike didn't want the fans and their emotions to come into play. The emails were written as though it was a goverment secret. Please read them, and listen to what they had to say on sports source this morning. This power T only is not what out university is built on. We have many forms of tradition , I not going to go along with no smokey or davey, or volunteers, when I wear something to support my teams. We are all of those

"Lady" on the uniforms ? You clicked on the right one.

This is about getting out the word on losing our idenity as the Tennessee volunteers . No smokey no davey no volunteers, on nike stuff, only a power T. It started with losing Lady Vols on top of the power T. But nike wants all things associated with Tenn gone, n only the T left. Please everyone speak up, if you love Tenn and all our tradition . Otherwise we have no tradition

So no shirts or caps with Smokey or Davey are going to be made? Or just ones with the swoosh? The Smokey one I have now doesn't have the Adidas label.

Dude, put up or shut up.

If you really have these "super secret tell-all documents" on a website, LINK. THAT. SH*T. Or stop posting.

Right now, you're just wasting time blabbering on with nothing to back up your claims. Back it up or retract.

No smokey no davey no volunteers no checkerboard , only a T , hats shirts anything we want to purchase has to be nike, n hart's way, not the fans

Please read my post about war nike n Hart is taking away. Volunteers smokey, Davey Crockett , and checkerboard , and only using the so call Power T on shirts, hats, anything that was our Tradition. Nike told hart to keep this info secret from the fans, was afraid of backlash from fans. My question to all fans of all Tennessee sports, are you going to sit back and let nike n Hart destroy our university , and our tradition. We have copies of these emails on the Save the Lady Vols site . Please get the word out about Hart n Nike

For the record, Adidas did not use the Rifleman logo, Smokey or the "Vols" on any apparel, other than their "College Vault" throwback line, either. The only time Adidas used the old "Star-Vols" on a uniform was on the throwbacks that baseball wore the last two years.

Those logos will continue to be available for other manufacturers to use, just as they were when Adidas wasn't using them either.

I can assure you, the checkerboards will be a huge part of our new identity package.

There will also be plenty of Nike merchandise with "Tennessee" and "Volunteers" in the new Nike fonts.

Not so, Nike said no. Go read the emails from nike. Everyone should know by now we can't make up this stupid stuff that nike wants to do . Keep this a secret nike says, don't let the fans find out nike says. Hart says ok why not.

....I was waiting for someone to point that out. I haven't seen the rifleman logo on anything since the last time we were with Nike.

Hart is trying to unite the program. There is nothing wrong with that. We need to stop living in the 1970's.

You are misunderstanding the documents posted on Deadspin.

But, you're welcome to believe what you want to believe, you're just wrong.

Other companies have already licensed the logos you're talking about for products that will be released after the Nike transition.

Literally the only logo in this whole situation that is being eliminated is the "UT" that the academic side used. That's it.

Dude, Deerpark has seen the mockups. He is exactly the kind of "need to know" person those emails are talking about.

Volunteer Traditions, Retro Brand and '47 Brand have all used the Rifleman on throwback and other products and will continue to do so.

Thanks for providing the mis-information. Deer Park, who has excellent credibility on this board, racked your comments and busted them.

You know, whatever is or isn't going to happen is only a month and a half away and you're not going to change that now. You might as well just wait and see, and in the meantime just concentrate on finishing your manifesto.
