I may be a little late to this thread so I apologize in advance but is there any REAL chance of any change in the uniform this year? Even if its for one game only?

DP said ideas are going around for a special uni and possibly some changes on bowl uni if we make one. also doing a game with pink accessories in Oct for cancer awareness. OCI says special uni will be for USCe.

Yeah, they'll do an unveiling prior to the season like Adidas did for other teams last year. That will allow a lead time to get replicas and associated gear to retailers for sale.

Several here have said for the USC game, as of last week, the game hadn't been decided, but USC or Auburn make the most sense considering our ban on official and unofficial visits will be over for those games.

This is UCLA's new jersey, so since we're having an alternate I wouldn't be surprised to see something with a similar pattern on the yoke/shoulders. I might even guess we could see this kind of pattern on the regular orange.

They have the photo exposure turned WAY up to highlight the pattern, in person it's barely noticeable.

why are we having to look at UCLAs jersey? where is the picture of the Vols new TechFit?

None of them is particularly adventurous. My favorite was one a couple of years ago identical to the Michigan "Under the Lights" uniforms that would have had a giant "T" on a black jersey with orange stripes. But using that one doesn't fit with the no black that I've been consistently told.

Looking at the uniforms from over the years, I’m not sure what throwback they would be able to do without going with the black. Mashup 1903 and 1914 and you get something akin to the Michigan combo.

And if I can get into the weeds for a moment...

Smokey, our adored team mascot, is a bluetick coonhound. Not, as you could wrongly surmise, a black and tan coonhound. I bring that up because, in the early part of the 20th century, the team used black and tan uniforms. Every time I see that old picture of the uniforms through the years I think of that.
