I was always a fan of the double orange stripe on the pants. Always will be.

Would be great if they would throw back to the double orange stripe and also the solid white pants from time to time

They were trying to get the double-stripe pants done a year early, but I'm still hearing that's a longshot. Some speculation that they're going to an old-school light gray facemask.

They very much would like to do the Holloway-era throwbacks again, but I also believe that to be a 2019 or beyond deal because of the retail component of an alternate/new jersey.

CfieldsVFL posted another tweet, yesterday I believe, that had an image with the orange shoulder pads. But, like @DeerPark12 says, I think that was his wishful thinking.

I personally think it will be something subtle. Along the lines of the grey face mask. I wouldn't be surprised with the black outline around the numbers though. They have been wearing those in camp (old number font).

I’d be okay with the Holloway-era Jersey. That would be a nice surprise to start the season! I agree that it will likely be subtle though.

Very glad to hear we will be transitioning back to the traditional look of the double stripe pants, regardless of this year or next. Soon all of the Botch Jones contributions will be the past.

The Holloway throwbacks would be fun to wear once a year or so. You think they will get back to orange pants on the road or stay with the white on white?

I don't like the black outlines at all. Someone tweeted in that string that black was not within the branding guidelines of UT and could not be used. I hope that is true. If they have to outline the numbers, why not use smokey grey?


Edit: But aren't the numbers on the white basketball jerseys outlined in black?

It does say this on the website though:

This is true. I was looking at the brand guidelines on the UTK website, and it states that black is not in the color palette. However, as I posted above, this applies to all UTK colleges, departments, centers, institutes, and non-athletic administrative offices. So it is a possibility that black is in the UT athletics brand.
