All orange would look incredible. Save the Black-outs for Kentucky and the Smokey Greys for LSU. We need as much orange as possible against the Gators and the Gumps.

CBS PBP announcer: “In what we think is a football first, the Vols are going with what they are calling their birthday suit alternative uniforms.”
CBS color announcer: “And if the pre game warmups are any indication, they are just kind of hanging out and look really loose. Seem to be bouncing around. I expect this team to play balls to the wall out there today”.

Now, that's funky, I mean funny.

I think honestly save the smokey grays for Alabama (which I know is typically more of a traditional uniform matchup). I think when you do checker Neyland, it would be weird to do smokey gray with that, but it worked in 2016.

I like alternate uniforms and am generally in favor of whatever excites the players, but I turn into a crotchety old man at the thought of anything besides orange and white for Bama. 🤷🏻‍♂️

They could always really save those for Missouri I guess? We have to do the dark mode against Kentucky given that's the Halloween game (and will almost assuredly be a night game).

So are we going Smokey gray or what? If so will it be the old ones or is there a new design? Bump me if there’s already another thread. Thank you I’m advance

Unless there is some sort of manufacturing miracle, they will be in the standard orange and white on Saturday. They don’t have all of the Smokey Grey elements in hand. I don’t believe the pants or helmets have arrived.

They were supposed to wear black last week, but they still don’t have all of the helmets in. Since this is the last year for the black, they’re going to hold out for the helmets to come in.

Personally I think we should only wear orange/white or orange/orange (or white/white or white/orange on the road) if we play Florida, Georgia, or Alabama, and save the alternates for SC and Missouri. I don't even like the alternates against UK and VU if I'm honest.

But we did last win over Florida in Smokey Greys (Grays?) so I won't be shocked if we come out in them, and Georgia seemst to be a team we wear alts against when we're home, so whatever. As long as we wear all the main combos I'm fine with it. I'm still not a big fan of haivng a Smokey Gray AND a Black alternate though, seems a bit too UK for my tastes.

Not sure I would want them wearing dark colors in that louisiana heat...Although UT will be wearing their home colors for that game as LSU prefers to wear white.

Personally, I hate the all orange look. I love orange britches on the road. But, the all orange just looks a bit weird. I don’t care what we wear really, but I just don’t want to see all orange again. I’d much rather see classic orange and white combo or dark mode.
