Most orange helmets are off. Clemson's doesn't really match their uniforms and if you've seen the Chicago Bears' new orange helmet to go with their orange alternate jersey, it's WAY off.

The baseball team finally got their orange batting helmets to match pretty well. It's not 100% perfect but I think it's as good as you can ask for.

Woah woah woah…..LAST YEAR for Dark Mode? Noooooooo. That’s so sad. I love the Dark Mode unis. I just bought one, too! We’re seriously getting rid of them after 2 years?!?!?’

They only exist because Jeremy Pruitt told his players they could have a black uniform for a social justice campaign, then it took Nike more than a year to make them happen. They decided to wear them last year since they were on hand and Nike came up with the “Dark Mode” name to justify it. But much of the gear Nike designed for retail to go along with them was stuck in the supply chain and didn’t come through until this summer. So Nike extended them for another year. But starting next year, going back to Smokey Grey (and Summitt Blue for LV teams) for dark colored alternates in all sports. No more black, unless it is a throwback look.

Damn. That really sucks. I know the players loved the Dark Mode and most of my friends and family were into the look as well. Seems like a huge waste to just get rid of them completely after 3 uses. I hope we at least bring them back every other year. It’s too dope of a look to just get rid of it that quickly, in my opinion.

Actually that's pretty good news, and I thought having a SG and a black alternate was too much. Though I generally liked the dark mode uniforms, I've long thought the BFBS (Black For Black's Sake) uniforms have long been overdone. Everyone and their mother has had a black uniform by this point; it's lazy. I'd rather have SG, even though it still has a bit of a Butch Jones stigma attached to it for me.

But since you said Summit Blue for LV teams, does this mean the softball team will drop their SG uniforms? And does this mean the men's basketball team will get new SG uniforms too?

Softball has to have a gray uniform to wear on the road, rules of the game. So they will stick with the darker gray, as opposed to a traditional baseball grade. I believe the baseball team will as well.

Men’s basketball has had the option for a Smokey Grey uniform the whole time, but Rick Barnes prefers just the traditional orange and white.

I didn't really care for the Smokey Gray back in 2015, but I could get behind a gray version of the current uniforms.

I keep seeing posts saying that recruits and players love alternate uniforms and I wonder, how do you know that? I am not saying it isn't true but is there a source for this? Are people just assuming the players and recruits love alternate uniforms?

I actually hope we just come out in our traditional O&W. We are already checkering Neyland. To me it looks dumb to have an O&W checkered Neyland and then come out in Smokey Gray.

I'm not sure why an alternate orange helmet with white T/stripes hasn't happened yet. I don't mind black alternates, but I'd rather do all orange before all black.

it’s fairly obvious when it’s shown how hype they get when an alternate is announced plus people like special occasions. Not everyone are boomer fans who are upset the wishbone isn’t the pinnacle of football innovation.

I just started listening to him this season…I’m already annoyed with him, but I can’t turn it off. He’s had 3 hours of basically the exact same show each day this week. If anyone wants to listen, but hasn’t yet, I’ll sum it up for you… “We’re going to CRUSH Florida. They’re not any good. BOOOOOOOOOM.”
