Unoffical guide to all those traveling to the Oregon game. What to do/expect there.

For all going have a mega time and represent us well! I will be in Green Bay that day so hopefully I can catch the game at a sports bar.

How many UT fans will be at the game and will our band travel too?

If you stop in Newport, I recommend the Newport Cafe. Great little local restaraunt and the have the best crab melt I have ever eaten.

I am in the Coast Guard and was stationed at the airstation in North Bend for the last four years until my relocation to Mobile in June. Lots of great local places to get good food and beer. Check out Widmer Brothers Hefewiezen. Brewed in Portland and is my absolute favorite beer.

Unfortunately we're not taking a band. I know we sold out our allotment, which was close to 5,000 I believe.

I am very disappointed that we are not taking the band. Curious how the fans will collectively sing Rocky Top (insert there won't be many times to sing Rocky Top here).

I would rather sacrifice taking the band to a Missouri than an Oregon.

I think we will have a very strong Vol contingent in Eugene, me included.

We do plan on going on one of the narrow gauge RR. The last time i was at the maroon bells was in the summer a few years back, so looking forward to seeing it with hopefully a little gold. I will have more questions most likely and your help is very much apprecited. I will make sure you get a full rundown, we are planning on watching the uf game in denver at uptowns tavern on 9/21.

If you enjoy exotic game and have the time to take in lunch or, preferably, dinner in Denver, you really should check out the menu at Buckhorn Exchange (Home Page Popup).

That is where we are staying. Do you know if they will let us park there the day of the game if we are staying there Saturday night? We are staying in Portland Friday night and leaving early Saturday morning for Eugene.

Make sure to leave at a good time in the morning. Traffic will be a ***** because a majority of duck fans will be coming from the Portland area.

Thanks!! We plan on hitting the road around 6-6:30. The Tennessee Alum Tailgate starts @ 9:30, so I wanna make it to that. and I'm sure my hubby wants to hit the Mo Center!

I've eaten there once and I can assure you that it is a delectable slice of Colorado history; they have been in business for 120 years!! Of course, a lot of people are a little squeamish about their house specialty, Rocky Mountain oysters.

120 years that's impressive, yeah doubt i go for those oysters, but i do like elk, venison, and bear. I have never tried bison or rattlesnake. I hope that i get the chance there. GBO!

Flying into PDX.......... Usually planes land from the east.

Out the left side of the aircraft you will fly right by Mount Hood........ Beautiful view.

Out the right side of the aircraft you will have views of Mt Adams and Mt St. Helen. Also very nice views........ But Hood is closest and beautiful....

Mt St Helen elevation 8,366 feet -- formerly 9,677
Mt Adams elevation 12,280 feet
Mt Hood elevation 11,250 feet

Flying into PDX is one of the best approaches in the nation because of the views. The second video i posted has an amazing shot of all 3 mountains at the :32 second mark

Flying into Eugene has some good stuff too. I couldn't find any good videos though.

Buffalo burgers are fine, but you have too many competing taste sensations to really tell a difference. A bison steak, which is a staple on their menu, would be the way to go; you will find it, not surprisingly, to taste a good bit like beef but with a slightly sweet texture. Bison is considerably leaner than beef or even chicken and turkey (Health & Nutrition | The Bison Council).

I don't remember if they typically have rattlesnake on the menu but I do seem to recall them having seasonal items that aren't necessarily on their online menu, such as ostrich and, perhaps, emu.

Any vols out in Eugene tonight? Any spot in particular where vols fans will be gathering?

Just got to Eugene a few hours ago. The weather is beautiful and most of the people have been very nice. I did see some rowdy Tennessee Fans. As soon as I landed in Eugene, a guy said to me, "you guys came a long way to lose." He was nice about it, but I said they are coming to play. Go Vols!
