Unofficial Game Thread - Tennessee vs UK

Seems like everybody's hopes (mine too) got dashed on an offense turning a page maybe waking up and coming to life for a full game. I guess it's long past time to own up to the fact it is what it is. A tiger don't up and change his stripes. At this point in the season it's what we got. I don't think we get far in the playoff, if we even make it, but I would love to be proven wrong.

Maybe Joe Milton gets some food against the Titans.

I’m not understanding how that would be an advantage because a cooking contest isn’t happening in Nissan Stadium.

While I want the rebuilding Titans to lose most games to get top draft picks, except I want them to defeat a rebuilding Patriots team because I’m seeing the game tomorrow, and I had no expectation that the Titans would be rebuilding greatly before the 2024 NFL season began.

A moral victory thaf the Kentucky Wildcats controlled the game for nearly 3 quarters before the meltdown in the third quarter.

It’s like they were the cool badass great James Cameron movie except then reverted to a common terribly written Michael Bat movie.
I get it. We have been a slooooooooow 1st half team in SEC play, since they all want to show us something new to throw us off. these same Kats lost to the dawgs by 1. We win by 10. DILLIGAF? GBO!

I use the word food to mean snaps.

This is the unofficial thread. Apparently some mod destroyed the official thread sometime around halftime. I believe there was more than 60 pages before kickoff.

EA wishes they could do that for most of their disreputable immoral actions consistently which is the factual reasons why vast people began hating them as a immoral business that cares about making money by using immoral actions.

Nico seems to got it together with his passing, hopefully everything gels in GA and play some of that best football we got coming that CJH mentioned😎
Well, we have another week to work on some things with Miss St on deck. Should beat them, but we have to work on and do better on execution before we go to Athens.

The Cornhuskers couldn’t get it done vs the Bruins which I was hopeful they would win in the Cornhusker State, so I’m not sad that the Vols continue to be like a slow burn in a movie since they’ve sailed very smooth for scoring points in the second half.

Also, I’m thrilled I can rely on the Vols to win most of their games in a season where the Titans are equal to the (2014) 2-14 Titans or any 2-14 Oilers teams.
While the Chicago Bears are a winning team except I’m realistic that with a rookie QB that the Vikings, Pack, Lions, and other solid teams with reliable talented not rookie QBs are going to outplay them.
That’s why I don’t see the Bears making the NFL Playoffs even though realistically they can win more than 7 regular season games.

If the Vols win whether it’s pretty or ugly then I’ll be thrilled because the objective is win the game.

Plus it’s more fun that the Wildcats melted down or imploded in the second half mostly because the Wildcats fans get to complain to Paul FineBaum, on Social media, etc about how they went from Terminator 2 which is a masterpiece in the first half to the Bay Transformers movies in the second half because of showing glaring flaws that got exploited much like it’s easy to see the huge flaws with all of the Bay Transformers movies.

The UK Wildcats were Darth Vader in the first half, except second half they became the MudDogs before the prosperous Waterboy era, or Wile E Coyote because they kept finding ways to choke during the high pressure critical clutch downs.

I dunno, I feel like I see the pieces finally coming together and they were oh so close tonight. The receivers were a let down but we’ve seen them play better; however, this was the first conference game where it didn’t look like things were moving too fast for Nico.imo As far as the playoff thought, no team has looked like a playoff team this year. Honestly all the ranked teams have looked over rated all year.

Nico still needs to run the ball more either on options or designed QB runs.

This offense is not “close” to putting it together. They are what they are going to be at this point. Nico is getting better each game. They can’t go fast tempo with him at the moment . . . So they lose that advantage. Sampson is awesome. The oline is average at best. The WRs drop WAY too many passes. And as a group . . . I don’t see a true number 1 go to WR. Penalties and turnovers plague the offense . . . Especially in road games.

Kevin Simon said on the radio after the game that we saw some of the run fits fail tonight. And that’s the loss of Pili showing up.

The offense is limited and will continue to be limited by oline issues, WR issues, and a young QB.

The defense is really good . . . But the loss of Pili will show up at times in bad ways.

I see very little chance they beat UGA on the road. If they make the playoffs at 10-2 . . . Anything could happen . . . But this is a solid to good team with too many holes to go too far.

Rinse and repeat.

Been hearing this same talk for a month.
Same old underperforming offense each week with a different group leading the way.
Oline one week, QB one week, receivers next .
So are we actually closer to putting it all together or closer to them all laying an egg in the same week and having an Arkansas repeat???

And he’s also fumbled the ball away twice in the redzone the last 2 games.

I’ll agree, we’re not close!!

I disagree, there’s only been 2 consistent issues; the o-line killing drives with penalties and poor QB play. As for your question I think it remains to be seen; even if they fix those 2 issues the 1 constant of CJH over multiple seasons has been poor play on the road. In my opinion it’s the way we go about snapping the ball (Vs Arky it was ridiculously predictable) but that’s just an amateur’s guess.

Edit: Just to add, as frustrating as this season has been at times, I’m enjoying the wins and seeing us build into something. If the switch really did flip for Nico then the only variable is time before the O hits its stride (hopefully this season).

But we're winning, it isn't pretty, but as off as it is, we're winning. It wasn't but a few short years ago, we were losing, and losing bad sometimes. I'll take rinse and repeat, and learning how to win.

476 Yards to 360

27 1st Dows to 17

Nico PR 104.3

This Kentucky offense isn't good enough for 366 yards. It's their 2nd best output of the year. We had two weeks to prepare again at home. We can be relieved we won, but acknowledge what we see is troublesome.
