UPDATE: Urban Meyer's resignation is now a leave of absence

why would his cardioligist need to be there when he said he did not have a heart attack :whistling:

Because when you have chest pains, chances are a cardiologist is the type of doctor you see to get checked out, whether you have a heart attack or not.

Sure....if you want to speculate. Message boards are great for that.

It's common knowledge about Meyer's chest pains and brain cyst. There's no need to go into details.

What male over 30 has never had chest pains?

Brain cyst became a problem this week?

I agree. This is being took out of proportion.

I am not taking anything our of proportion .... I am simply saying this is evidence that Meyer is indicisive .. when he was asked about replacing coaches that left he seemed to have no answer there as well... He did not come off well

Maybe I am just not getting this but if it is common knowledge then what is the big problem with simply saying that is it... then ALL speculation would be put to rest

the point is that in this situation you are the one whose bias has exceeded the limits of credulity

Not so. I'll be the first to admit I was pleased to hear he thinks he's healthy enough to have a gut feeling about coaching next fall. There are people here speculating about drug/alcohol issues that have no basis whatsoever. That exceeds the limits of credulity.

It remains to be seen what effect all this will have on our recruiting class and coaching search for a competent DC.

All I know is Meyer staying at UF is better than him walking away....given how the story first broke I'll take Meyer in a reduced role over no Meyer at all.

How many of you think right after NSD he will leave? Honest opinions please.

Because at the end of the day it's nobody's business but Meyer, his employer and his family.

It's as though you want to beat a confession of the guy, when all the information about his condition is already out there.

this is precisely where you are naive

I do not think so.... I think he may not return at all next season and even if he does it will be at such a reduced roll that his effectiveness will be limited. I do not know if we pick up any recruits from those already committed to Fla but I do believe it helps us with those on the fense and will help us with the future recruiting classes as no one will know who is in charge

I learned of his retirement at Foxsports. It said brain cyst. Now after all of this you can only figure he has the only untreatable disease there is. Ego and full of BS!!!!!!!!

You're right, I should just sell my season tickets right now because Meyer is coming back.

Clearly no good whatsoever can come from Meyer staying affiliated with UF.

Sorry bro....the gloom and doom you want me to feel just isn't there. And at the end of the day, we're talking about college football. This isn't life and death stuff.

Because details about medical conditions should be kept private?

When you release a statement saying you're walking away from being coach at Florida because of your health, and then less than 24 hours later you're sitting at a press conference saying "no, wait, after I went to one practice and hung out with the players I've changed my mind," then you've made at least the broad details about your medical condition a matter of public debate. Sorry.

Explain? Brain Cyst, heard they can be bad but, whats the long term effect? And retirement? He's not.

Difference between UT fans and UF fans imo.

Yeah.

He won't be back.

I'm sure a little more dough was thrown his way to "stay on", so that UF had more time to find a replacement to avoid having the recruits abandon ship like rats off the Titanic. He has no intention of coming back.
