UPDATE: Urban Meyer's resignation is now a leave of absence

Now it says on espn's site thar Meyer plans to be on the sidelines to start the 2010 season.

I can't take credit for this, saw it on another site and got a good laugh, thought I would share.

"Thousands rushed to hospital with broken legs and necks as a result of injuries sustained while trying to jump off the FL bandwagon and back on following Meyer's announcements."

Dude is a quick healer.

At least all the "wanna spend more time with the family, be a dad, take care of myself" stuff does not look like total bullsh*t right now. This guy is a head case.

I go back to what I said earlier in the thread about this being the same thing as a teenage girl who takes a whole bottle of pills to show everybody how depressed she is. This is the most narcissistic, look-at-me display in sports in years, including everything Brett Favre has done.

LW: please explain how CUMs actions over the past two days are not completely selfish, including the timing, the flip-flop, etc.

Meyer has created one thing with his narcissism and that is UNCERTAINTY for the Florida program. This little flip flop stunt by Meyer stunk from the beginning.

Gonna be hard to walk in the training room and convince the walking wounded to play.....

You would think Meyer would have learned something about making sure you're comfortable with a decision before announcing it from Florida's basketball coach.

I have a gut feeling that Foley will pay for his pandering here as well....just a gut feeling.

I asked Ruben Patterson a couple of years ago why guys play so hard for Huggs. He said, "That guy has passed up a bunch of chances to work in the League to keep coaching college ball. You owe a guy like that all you got."

explain what that means
The Florida basketball isn't exactly on top of the world right now. In fact it is likely that they will never win anything of consequence for the remainder of Billy D's tenure. Is that simple enough for you?

Other than Tebow, I don't get the sense that anybody really likes playing for him to begin with. Nick Saban...the beginning of the end for several SEC coaches. Just added one more to the list.

The Era Of Saban is going to be marked with several casualties. Tuberville and Fulmer are already in the career graveyard, with Miles soon to follow. Meyer may be joining them after this stunt.
