A publicity stunt. Nothing more. To get a little emotion flowing for his team because they had a great chance they can get their asses kicked by Cincy. He's trying to get them to win one for him. Then he'll play some golf, jerk timmy a few times over the summer and return in the fall.
I call FAIL on the whole episode! If UF was attempting to generate air-time, the product was more like the Three Stooges than Ben Hur. Downright clownish. Unfortunately, it reminded me somewhat of CPF's final presser.
Note to ADs: plan, plan, plan, BEFORE you talk
I get that feeling also. I think this leave of absence deal has a lot to do with Foley and the recruiting season that's in full swing. I think Meyer's wife let his real intentions slip out. Damage control is all that's going on now. Their recruiting is going to suffer regardless. Their team is going to suffer regardless. Some things you just can't reverse and this is one of them. Quit one day, back another. Oh and one more thing, if Meyer's health was such a issue how come he's coaching the bowl game? There is more to this story and the drama isn't over yet.I have a feeling Meyer will never, after the Sugar Bowl, coach another game at Florida.
