I still think Rucker makes it to campus. $250,000 is not life changing money for him. If he gets $500,000 slot value, he will only get half of it. I think it would take more than that to get him not to come to school.

Correct, definitely the exception rather than the rule, and almost every guy drafted today, especially in those first 5 rounds is almost definitely going to sign, but it’s not a guarantee. And NIL is changing that by the year too

In fact I believe he actually could come back and still have leverage next season. It’s possible teams were nowhere near his asking price and he’s decided to come back. Now that’s pure speculation and I frankly do not fully understand the mlb draft but that’s what my friend who is an ex vol is starting to theorize. Again, pure speculation there. It’s just weird to see him still available in the 6th round. Don’t think anyone saw that coming

In my own personal opinion, I still think odds are greater than 50% he’s gone if you see him selected today. But, if it’s true he can come back and still retain leverage we’re getting to the point where it makes sense for him to get NIL deals and come back with what’s going to be a preseason top 3 team and try to make another impression on scouts

I am not that shocked he has fallen this far. If you were talking Dolander fell this far I would be shocked. Dickey IMO could have or will go anywhere from 4th -10th round.
