Well, bye bye Carson Rucker. 4th round. He won’t make it to campus.

I said this a month ago and people kept assuring me that he would be on campus. I'm not sure why. We've known for awhile now that he would be a top 5 round pick.

I’m shocked Denton isn’t even listed

He had a decent year at the plate, but not a great one by any means. Defensively, he's OK, but again, not great. He strikes out too much, but he walks a lot. Average defensive third basemen who hit good but not great are not highly valued. His switch hitting is intriguing, tho. I'm guessing they don't want to meet his asking price knowing he has eligibility.

I wonder how many of these players were approached by a team, but wanted too much $ so they missed their opportunity.

Only 10 rounds left. What Vols get drafted? Per MLB, Clubs are allowed to spend up to $150,000 on players selected in Rounds 11-20 without it counting toward their bonus pool. So guys prob got underpaid in the day 2 rounds and it benefited the ones that are now avail day 3. I guess we’ll see a lot of 150k guys on Tues.

Great question. Been asking it myself. It's a mystery. Could be coming in the portal? I'm wondering if Tony will play his best defensive SS given the power in his lineup, or opt with a better hitter/lesser defender? I'm not even sure who the candidates are besides Jazzy and Kendro. Would he play a freshman at short? I doubt it.

I would think NIL will be competitive with 150K for a lot of these guys.

it’s my guess that Galanie and Dickey were told by orgs to turn down money today in order to get more Tomorrow

I’m betting both get taken in the 11-12th rounds tomorrow and if those teams have $ to spend they will get it but it will take weeks to know

He will play the best guy. Unless a stud enters the portal sometime before now and the start of next year I think you could see as many as 3-4 guys get time there early in the year. There’s lots of options though. It will most likely be someone who’s not proven at this point, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be a good player. My guess is Kendro or Lohry as of today
