This baffles me. Why do we have to wait til the 12th for this guy to commit?

That has been my thinking, Hens. I thought that it would be until they feel really good about a 2010 prospect before we heard anything concrete about Lamaison.

I think he said he couln't sign till after the 12th because of school ending! Forget which article it was.

Maybe the other jockeys got horses from a different stable (read: different recruiting year).

I'm not sure what you are missing but the issue is that UT happens to need a QB out of a particular class who can compete to start but that particular class isn't strong with QB's.

I guess if he signs, he'd be back dated to the 2009 class as well. I wonder if there's ever been a school that has added so many players after NDS. We've just about put together a complete class since NDS.

That’s saying something considering UT doesn’t have the same local talent that USC and Miami enjoy.

“The staff works,” Orgeron said. “(Head coach) Lane (Kiffin) thought long and hard when he hired the staff about the connections we have around the country.

“It takes a lot of work on the assistant coaches’ part to get the top players to come. We were doing this back in February, working for this.”

I don't know reason but he is not commenting on his future until he finishes school on the 12th of June.

It could be we want him to wait or it could be he has to get final grades and he needs those in hand to get here. Maybe he doesn't want to say anything until everything is ready for him to enroll???

He doesn't have to "formally" commit. He doesn't have to sign an LOI. All he has to do his apply for acceptance to Tennessee and be accepted by the school. Of course, CLK would have to assure him he has a scholarship. Then he would be a Vol.


If CLK felt it was beneficial to Tennessee for a public statement and Lamaison was ready to make a public statement ti would happen. So it must not be time until the 12th. :)

the two aren't related. Getting a 2010 commitment doesn't affect when Lamaison comes on board.

If it makes a difference to kids that Lamaison is coming then they won't commit ever or if they were already committed, they would de-commit if it bothers them.

Munchie is the qb with the dreds? And who was that kiffin coaching about routes with the yellow shorts? Simms?

I think he may have played some DB as well. Sims is sold on the fact that he is not going to be a QB at the next level if you believe the reports that he called Saban and told him he wanted to play WR or S. I think we have a real shot at him regardless of what the Bama fans may say.

Hard to complain but it's easy to tell why Kevin has a radio and not a TV show. I'd love to get a glimpse of the footage the coaches get to see.
