Updates from Camp

Muchie just from the drop backs looks like a guy with potential if he grows into his body.

For some reason I would like UT to take Brunetti as the second qb.

That article only gets me more fired up about the future.
The Vols are headed back to the top of the mountain.

Thanks guys, that article got me pumped up too. It's interesting how the article really nails how the fans, coaches at all levels and prospective players feel but isn't accurately portrayed in the usual media outlets. If anyone caught the ESPN College Football Live broadcast yesterday you know exactly what I mean.

Brunetti has sound mechanics from the film I have seen....looks natural passing the ball

He is just so short... he does have a high release though

He would be a good 2nd QB pickup

when I look at Brunetti...I see a more athletic Eric Zeier......

One of the more underrated qb's in SEC history.

Not sure he's on that level but for some reason I would like to see him as the second qb in this class.

All this sh!t about Brunetti's height is so stupid to me.

Especially since coaches can't publicly discuss recruits.

There are other factors to evaluate---

Arm strength, personality, leadership abilities, decision-making, game knowledge, level of competitiveness.

I couldn't tell you why he doesn't have an offer and I don't care to speculate, but people should keep in mind that Tennessee has to get this one right----quarterback(s) for 2010.

The vids actually looked good this time. Fred Taylors son is an animal though. Jeeeeeeeze. Is it bad I was cracking up when he started creaming over Devrin Young though?

I know it was posted earlier that B.Earnhardt ran the best 40 for time, but does anyone know how he performed in skills drills?

With some of his current offers, I just don't know if he'd come here if it was basically common knowledge that he was the "2nd" QB.

We'll see, I just don't feel it.

That's one reason I like Brunetti. I think he'd be a guy willing to be one of two QBs in a class. You don't ever tell a guy he's your second choice and I don't know how it would be common knowledge. Unless we ended up with Heaps which isn't going to happen. Scroggins is good, but not so good that another guy couldn't potentially improve enough to beat him out.

Just based on what I've heard and read, it seems like Brunetti thinks that he's going to be the #1 QB no matter what team he ends up on.

SEC QBs need that confidence.

Absolutely. I was just reading in Meat Market where Orgeron had concerns about Robert Elliot because he was worried about Ole Miss recruiting Joe McKnight. That reminded me of the Oku and Brown situation. Many people said there was no way we were going to get both, but that's just a testament to each of them that they don't shy away from competition.

Yeah, I'm almost convinced we need two new arms (not named Lamaison or Rozier) to really amplify the QB position next year. I agree with you, I suppose I overestimate fan influence getting back to Brunetti that he might be targeted as a #2, because with any other commit other than Heaps (and maybe even Heaps for that matter) I like the intensity that Brunetti shows that would make him work extra hard to prove any doubters.

I just think that from a staff standpoint, while they aren't going to tell him he's a #2, he should be able to discern by now that without an offer the staff is still skeptical.

What do you mean by amplify?

The reason that the staff is looking at JC options and transfer (Marve) options so hard is that at this point in time, they don't see any high school option in 2010 calss that can help them in 2010 season except with the scout team.

DO you mean be a # 2 quarterback? # 3 or # 1??

David Leaverton is working with the punters. Fuad Reviez is working with the placekickers.

The three best kickers in my mind in the morning session was Acosta, a kid from Montgomery Bell Academy, and a kid from Brentwood Academy.

On the punter side, there is a kid here from Georgia who was ok this morning and a kid from Catholic who I thought was the best punter of the morning.

I like the way the Acosta kid kicks. Nice leg.
