How many UT fans would be happy if they could have landed Urban Meyer? Be honest when replying.

i for one would hate the hire

we'll see how he fares without tim tebow and superior SEC speed

he might fare well in the big ten, but i just don't see his offense working nationally unless he's got SEC talent, and that will be hard to get at OSU right now with so many other (seemingly better) SEC options to go right now

I know he is from Ohio and this is his "going back home" job. But, it's obvious he left Florida when things got tough. Ohio State has always recruited well and probably will continue to do so with a proven coach, but I think CUM is in for a surprise when he can't get as many big time Florida HS kids to move up north. Ohio talent is good, but it's not Florida talent. I think he struggles there until he starts having health problems again...oh wait he has used that excuse already.

He'll get a one year "grace" period from the grey hairs, then they'll expect results. It wont take him long though. I'd expect them to be in the hunt year 2.

Interesting to note that tOSU cancelled a series with UT about 2 weeks before Urban announced.....coincidence?

Mike Stoops is locked in with Urban to be his defensive coordinator, per the scoop.

Here we go. Where does it end? When the HC makes more than the entire staff of college professors? An NBA player makes enough to pay an entire high school of teachers because he's tall and can put a b'ball through a hoop. We're getting upside-down, maybe we already are.

Ultimate apples vs. oranges comparison...with that mindset you'd be a perfect fit for the occupy (insert target of occupation) movement.

And a ridiculous attempt at an argument. Its called capitalism and people get paid more money when there is more money flowing through the industry. The only common ground these two industries share is a pay check.

Nonsense...because Dwight Howard is 7-feet tall, has shoulders wider than a 50" flat screen TV and generates millions of dollars for the NBA, the Orlando Magic, Adidas and Gatorade, he should be paid only slightly more than my 11th grade English teacher Miss Faustini.

We already are as evidenced by a revered coach essentially aiding and abetting a child molester for the sake of the program.

He leaves Florida to spend more time with his family, takes a job with espn as an analyst, and then accepts a job with Ohio State. Where did Family fit in? I had little respect for him before, I have none for him now. Pathetic.
I think he got word that Ohio State was going to be looking while at Florida. That was his exit strategy.

so what's the over-under on seasons before he gets "overworked" again?

i can't believe he's already back in coaching, he pulled a Kiffin on UF...just in slow motion

But left behind some nice hardware as a parting gift.
