Urban Meyer Accepts

But left behind some nice hardware as a parting gift.

Yeah, I can't hate him too much for that. I'm sure I'll get around to hating him eventually though.

Had he left after the '09 season and not mailed it in last year, most UF fans would have a different opinion of Meyer.

Ultimate apples vs. oranges comparison...with that mindset you'd be a perfect fit for the occupy (insert target of occupation) movement.

I agree with this in principle, but I think there's something to be said for how much institutions build up their football programs and the havoc it can eventually wreak on the university as a whole. Penn State is suffering plenty beyond just football, Ohio State is on shaky ground, and Miami is about to be upended.

Admittedly this may seem strange coming from a Tennessee fan, but I've also seen what the obsession with winning did to Colorado and others. Build it up and it has huge ramifications for everyone when it falls apart.

CUM is a POS. He knew Florida was gonna be in serious rebuilding mode so he split and made up lame excuses. Family time huh Urb? What a joke. Screw Urban Meyer
I have to say UF fans should have nothing to be pissed about though. Meyer left a couple of national titles, Kiffin left a lot of burnt mattresses.

Excited to see how we finish off this recruiting year with urban at the helm. Unfortunately we may lose the top RB in Ohio to Michigan. Def stings a little bit

Did Corch Irvin Meyers really just blame Cam Newton and the bagman for his premature exit from the coaching world? Or am I reading too much into his comments re: bad things going on in the world of college football?

With Fickell on staff, Stoops will not be joining OSU.

And the question that no one is addressing is, will OSU get hit with any NCAA sanctions?

he answered that in the PC. Said he felt confident in what he was being told in his own research, and reaffirmed by the people at Ohio State.

Fickell could still go back to his old spot and they get Stoops. the Stoops rumors are heating up big time. Meyer met with Fickell last night and again this morning.

Hey, if he can get both Fickell and Stoops on that staff then my gosh. He is the best recruiter ever.

I think the key for him to be a success there will be to get a great coaching staff around him.

He had that at UF when he was successful and will need it at OSU.

He also needs system players - starting at QB. I think Miller fits that role nicely.

It will be interesting for sure.

So he doesn't expect any sanctions or any punishment by the NCAA?

That NBA player makes the organization a lot more money than what he is paid. It's entertainment and should not be dumbed down in pay just because teachers don't make enough in your opinion. It's easier to be a teacher than it is to be a highly paid player in the NBA. Get a clue.

I'm pretty sure it's you who'd better get the clue. You think a guy who plays a game is worth more to society than someone who teaches our children?!?! You're proof-positive that our values are upside-down.

Yes. Because you spend all of your hardworking money relying on this individual for entertainment. Millions and millions of people rely on a Dwight Howard. Why should he get paid the same as a teacher when he brings in billions of dollars to his industry? Go ahead and ***** about it. It's called capitalism. It has nothing to do with values and to imply that it does is incredibly ridiculous. It's not just a game. It's a billion dollar industry. A business. "How dare the VP of marketing at Samsung make more money than a teacher. He brings nothing to society but poison TVs." Stupid. Incredibly stupid.

Yes, Dwight Howard is worth more to society than my 11th grade English teacher Miss Faustini...that is until she starts selling out 17,000-seat arenas 82 times a year because she can break down Homer's "The Odyssey" better than every other 11th grade English teacher on the planet.

To those questioning Urban's commitment to his family, rest assured that he is committed. His 21 year old kid drew up a contract that said family first, health second and made him sign it before taking the Buckeye job. That rests all doubt in my mind that he is committed to family. He signed a contract that says so.

What's the over/under that he opts out of his "family contract" in 2 years and joins Tebow's family?

Really!? Name 'em. If the gravity holding the entire NBA to the planet suddenly ceased to exist and they all when hurtling into outer space, I wouldn't notice a bit. But then, I'm not a simple-minded person who thinks it's cool for a 7 ft. tall person with a 3 ft. reach to put a b'ball through a 10 ft goal. Maybe you are. I guess the only people who'd really be hurt are idiots and tatoo artists. Which are you?

And the NBA isn't all that interesting in the first place. Dwight and Kobe get none of MY money
