Urban Meyer Out at Florida (merged)

thanks for informing our fan base we have no morals because we are glad a coach that has made us looks silly for the past couple of years is stepping down

I seriously hope it's nothing serious.

But I didn't want him to leave Florida so we could turn the tables on him.

rece davis on espn said that meyer's kids' reaction was "we've got our dad back" when he told his family.

if he had a serious health issue, i doubt they would have said that.

Hope the guys ok. Wonder if what a poster above said is true about him finding out something in the hospital after seccg.

I was told about the cyst on the brain this morning by a high school friend of mine that lives in Gainesville and works at UF. Making fun of it is ridiculous, no matter what you think about my longjevity........

Well, as much as I LOVE this moment, I can't sit here and be happy it's because of health reasons. If he was taking another job, I would be estatic, but I wish him good health. I'm not one of these TN homers that wishes doom and gloom on people because we couldn't beat them. Well, maybe I did before this. :)

well said.

Source: Meyer tells players he has a heart problem

In response to the shocking news that Florida coach Urban Meyer will be resigning as the team's head coach for health reasons, an NFL source tells us that Meyer has informed the team that he has a heart problem.

Making the development even more surprising is the fact that Meyer is only 45, and by all appearances he is in good health.

I log onto facebook and just to see what everyone says....leave it to bama fans to trash a guy when he is down...I hate those SOB's I hope Urban's health problems are not to serious

I haven't made fun of anything, dude. I don't know what you're babbling about.

The number of posts are irrelevant. Because you have enough "down time" to post over 3,000 times on a message board says more about YOU than me. Sorry.......no way to spin this one. Making jokes in this situation is ridiculous...

Sorry that I have more free time than you, however you grouped everyone into the "kick a man while he's down" classification and I'm not one of them. So, when you are speaking to a certain poster name them directly. Example: When you made the comment about all of us being like AL and KY fans, I made a comment directly toward you.

The brain cyst deal has been known for a while (1998). A tumor would be something new. I would bet that it's heart related.

So now how many coaches has Kiffin driven out? WKU, Memphis, Brooks (possibly) and now Meyer. Dang he's good :)

But all kidding aside, I hope Meyer's health problems are not serious and are easily resolved. As much as I personally dislike the guy I don't want something bad to happen to him.

When it comes to health........who you root for in a football game is irrelevant. I hope that CUM has a long and healthy life and has his family business in order.

OK so which is it? Brain cyst or heart problem...... Maybe our newfound conscience Mr 14 post newbie can set us all straight....

Really shocking news, totally out of left field. For a guy that competitive to quit that job... Hope he makes 100 pct recovery and we see him coaching again soon!

Then why wait until now?

All we know about that time was he was dehydrated. I'm not a doctor, so I don't have any mindless speculation about how dehydration can be linked to brain cysts, but maybe there's something there. But it's his business, not mine.

Come on Guys.......Show some class on this one......I hate the Gators as much as anyone but I doubt that CLK had ANYTHING to do with this........The last time I checked......THEY BEAT US!!!!

I agree. I would prefer to see us able to beat Florida at their best, rather than rejoice at Meyer's, Tebow's, or anyone else's departure making it easier for us.

We understand your point and generally everyone feels the same. High horse'd.

do you get the impression it's a recent, serious situation, considering we let strong get away?

I hope so too LG. Prayers for the Gator Nation tonight.

Meyer is one of my Fraternity brothers. I root against him when Florida plays the Vols, but he is a great coach and a great man of faith. I hope his health improves and he can return to the sport down the road. I just wish UT had another shot at a Meyer-coached team so we could say we beat him once. Hopefully, the chance will come down the road and his health improves.
