This whole Urban Meyer love affair with Tim Tebow is pathetic. I thought we'd finally be done with it once Timmy graduated, but I see that Meyer is going to keep the torch burning from now until the end of time.

What the heck is he getting upset about . . . the reporter was quoting the player. Unless the reporter totally fabricated the quote, then the one that Meyer needs to be angry with is the player who said it.

I still think one day, when their careers are over, Meyer and Tebow will move to a pro-gay marriage state and get hitched.

Just a theory though

So, I guess Urbie is all better now... No heart problems, no 'other woman' problems, leave of absence over (or no leave of absence)... Clean bill of health, ready to 'die on the sidelines' coaching his players or beat the crap of 'bad reporters'...

What exactly did the reporter do? What did he quote?

quoted a sophmore WR for the Gators
about the differences between Tebow and having Brantley this year
the WR said
They (Florida) have a real QB in Brantley (paraphrased)

I've seen the video and heard the back-and-forth, and as a Gator fan conclude:

1) Meyer was out of line. Overreacted. It was in particularly bad form to dress the guy down like that in front of a half dozen people. My guess is that an apology is forthcoming.

2) The reporter did egg him on a bit. It doesn't justify it at all, but the reporter should be more professional, too.

3) There has to be some backstory here, some kind of prior run-in between these two.

right it's not possible that meyer is just being a dbag as usual. there must be some back story.

I agree it was dbagery. Just saying it seemed to me from the dialogue that there was some pre-existing tension there, that's all.

Meyer initiated the whole exchange and was trying to bully the reporter. What did you expect him just to take it? I would have told him to bring it on once his doctor medically cleared his aching heart.

How did he egg him on? He was replying to a ranting Meyer. Not being sarcastic (this time) just didn't see the egging on part.

Are you kidding? Standing up for yourself while being yelled at for doing nothing wrong is just not right!
