Uros Plavsic commits to Tennessee

I‘ve gone from checking the bball forum 5 times a day to see if Springer committed to now checking 5 times a day to see if UP is eligible

I don't believe the Ramey report. I don't think there is any reason not to play him since it's just an exhibition game. Hopefully we get good news today.

That’s kinda surprising
Hate to speculate on things like this, but Pending Appeal means he's been denied? If they just don't recognize the AC leaving as grounds for transfer looks like he'd still play tonight. rules infractions on recruiting him could hint at why he wouldn't be playing. As usual, more drama. .....Wait and see, i guess.

His appeal is for immediate eligibility. If had not appealed he would have had to sit out this year.

No. Seems like way more are still awaiting word.

That's what I thought too.

Now I'm concerned that his case has already progressed to one of the two appellate levels of the NCAA process and is not just waiting on an initial staff waiver review. If that is correct, his initial transfer waiver request must have already been denied by the NCAA staff and UT is now either seeking a staff level reconsideration, or its staff level reconsideration request was also unsuccessful and the matter is pending for final review before the Division 1 Committee for Legislative Relief. The Legislative Relief Committee is a 7 person board made up of members from Division I schools or conferences and Committee's decision is not subject to further appeal.

I would imagine it was because the NCAA is a bunch of idiots and they would find a way to penalize us for playing an ineligible player in an exhibition.

I just don't understand how this decision is so difficult for the NCAA.

Fact #1: Uros attended Arizona State.
Fact #2: Uros sat out a year and never played for Arizona State.
Fact #3: Uros transferred to TN and now wants to play since he already sat out a year.

That's it. That's the story. It's not that hard. Either approve him or deny him, but it shouldn't take nearly an entire YEAR to get this done. Absolute ineptitude.

Unless I’m confused, steps 1-3 means he’s ineligible this season at UT unless there are some extenuating circumstances on which the NCAA would make an exception to the rules.

From the beginning I think it was reported that ASU was not cooperating. Don't want to open a can of worms, but possibly they could be accusing Zlovaric of acting as an agent and contacting TN on his way out the door to see if they would take UP if he entered the transfer portal. if they answered yes, that could be considered a recruiting violation. Proper answer would be , can't comment on that. Hard to prove, but if they even suspect could be holding things up. Just yer typical conspiracy theorist at work.

I don’t think so, that’s just how 247 is classifying guys requesting a waiver.
