I miss the old days where a true big man could dominate a game. Ralph Sampson, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem, UNC’s big men, Shaq

At the time that became boring, therefore the 3-point line and **** clock were added. Unfortunately the 3PL especially has evolved into a different form of boring offensive basketball. The 3P line needs to be pushed out another 9”-18”.

NCAA was trying to emulate the NBA w three point line. The shot clock didn’t arrive until Dean Smith had his team hold the ball most of the second qtr vs UVA. It was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen in basketball. I don’t recall when they decided to run their offensive set but the guard just held the ball for at least ten minutes and UVA players just stood back in a zone.

Remember when the three point line was inside top of key? Then they extended it back out.

7ft finesse player with limited skill. If he could learn to play strong, he could help but he’s soft.

Where’s Stu Aberdeen and his tennis rackets when you need them.

The ACC had the short 3PL that intersected the free throw circle. Conferences each set their own distances.

Before the 3PL the game had become simply feeding the low post and the teams with the freakish bigs had huge advantages. Alcindor, Walton, Bowie, Sampson, Ewing, Turpin, Shaq and Stanley, Hakeem. Some of those played after the 3PL and shot clocks were added. It wasn’t balanced competition. The initial shot clock for TN was 45 seconds. I don’t recall for certain if that was across all of the NCAA or an SEC decision. I think that it was an NCAA rule.

Until he learns how to defend, he won’t play much for Barnes. He isn’t even a good rebounder despite being a 7 footer. I hope he eventually contributes at some point in his career, and Barnes has proven to develop players, but at this point the only way he plays is out of necessity or someone gets injured/sick.

And som

And some people can’t handle the truth

Truth is every team needs willing role players and calling them glorified cheerleaders is simple minded douche-ness.

Truth is without Renaldo Woolridge filling a role in 2010 TN probably doesn’t have their other win versus Kansas.

His problem is defense and rebounding. He is alright on offense. Passes well and seems to be a good post up scorer.

What he lacks in skill set, he makes up for in frustration fouls.

Uros's issue at this point in his development is he doesn't have one reliable thing he can do at 7' tall. He doesn't jump well, he doesn't shoot over the top, he doesn't block shots nor does he rebound well. He doesn't strike any fear into the opponent. His lack of athleticism could be overcome if he just altered the way the other team ran their offense through the post, and if he was able to finish due to being the beneficiary of teams pressing our wing players.

Grant won SEC POY as a sophomore. Uros seems like a good dude, but he will never play more than mop up minutes on a winning SEC roster.
