US Drones Targeting Rescuers

and just for the record, I'm doing the damn thing over here now. I just don't make threads about it and bs like that. Not my first time and won't be my last. So if think you know more than me, bring it on.

This is the sh!t that pisses me off. People come in here talking like they know what is going on when they don't know jack sh!t. I live this on a daily basis. So unless you're another combat vet wanting to have a discussing, then shut the hell up.

Otherwise, enlist and get yo ass over here.

This is the worst reasoning. If you can't know enough to have a well-founded position without actually having been in combat, how can we trust presidents to engage in efficacious operations?

Also, I've thought about joining up to watch over some younger friends. Sad fact is that they do not accept hopelessly flat-footed individuals.

the Pakastani people should be pissed and do something about their government

They're just poor uneducated mountain people with rocks for the most part who have little idea about what is going on in global politics. The Pakistani govt has one of the biggest military budgets in the world.

thank you for your service, but this isn't public against vets. It's simple discussion and often harmless. If it offends you, you don't have to take part.

missed my point. You obviously think no one but vets should be able to discuss these things. Is that valid?

my main problem is we're still there fighting for people that don't give a damn while our country falls apart. Same situation as Iraq yet we were able to get out of there

Making bold dumb statements as though they were facts is what gets me. I don't say much but war is something I know a thing or two about.

Maybe you think your, "I'm a soldier so I know" routine works but what happens when there's a soldier who disagrees with you? There are a lot of them.

that's great but so do a bunch of people. Living where I do means many of my friends have done the tours or are still active duty. You don't necessarily have to have lived it to have a basic understanding of what's going on if you do your homework

The line of thinking I don't understand is that a lot of people who want us completely out of the middle east also want the tsa, cia, fbi, patriot act etc. abolished/significantly reduced and open immigration (i.e., the Ron Paul types).

Do you honestly believe we would not be setting ourselves up for disaster with this approach? In isolation and theory, I agree with both views. In practice, I believe you have to be strong with at least one of these approaches. Take the fight to them or beef up the defense.

comparing the TSA to the CIA is ridiculous. Things like the Patriot Act and the NDAA do not make us more free. Most would say foreign intelligence gathering is necessary but sending American troops into countries where they don't belong is useless.

I can understand people having concerns over the CIA and the FBI because they have been around forever, and people take that for granted. But DHS, PATRIOT Act, TSA....we've got no support for the idea that they can even come close to passing an honest cost/benefit analysis.

BTW, the topics of expansive foreign policy and the FBI are pretty much unrelated. You may see them hand in hand because it's typical of Paulites, but one can support the CIA and oppose the wars.

I think we've found THE "Billy Badass".

You have no idea.

On that note I will bid this thread goodbye. My 2 cents, if you really want to know what is going on over here take your ass to the recruiting station and sign up. Other wise, your opinions get zero credibility from me or any other trigger puller that has been in the sh?t. You may not like that, but we don't care. Sweet dreams.

Thank you for your service. I will sleep peacefully.

Keep your head down, brother.
