US Drones Targeting Rescuers

That is absolutely untrue. I have personally talked to many common men in the region who not only know about our freedom but desire it for themselves. I would assume that somewhat prosperous countries like Jordan and Egypt would have a different outlook because they feel a bit more equal to us and more likely to defend their own way. I would also assume your friend probably dealt with professional class people and only got a filtered view of the common man's viewpoint. One on one, when there is little fear of being overheard, the average person (obviously not an extremist) will tell you he wants what we have.

Nope. He was a student and then a guide for an Arabic-language immersion program. All he did was hang out with the common man and do site-seeing. They realize clearly we are more liberal with our treatment of women because they see American movies, but they don't really know, nor do they care that we have, say, freedom of religion.

Hatred of freedom of choice is not the primary reason?

They use religion as a form of control, the issue isnt freedom?

I would say its more complicated than that...maybe to the point of convolution. But you're right - hate doesn't always need to be. Nor does the reason matter at this point.

What is wrong with you?

Second time, no, it would never enter my mind.

You have bizarre view points, this one is right up there.

So if a chinese citizen sees the pics of yhe rape of nanking they would want to kill japanese?

You have issues

This is some great spin.

Are you saying that you are not aware of our enemies intent? Sounded for a second like you had it all figured out.

I'm saying if they say that, and we say that, then it goes down like this:

Party A kills 1 person
Party B kills 1000 people
Party A kills 1,000,000 people
Party B kills 1,000,000,000 people

It's not a sustainable policy.

They hate us because of our religion. There can never be peace with the Muslim world because they see it as their duty to take command of the world in the name of Islam. Anyone who does not convert should be killed or enslaved. I refuse to do either.

this. they don't think very hard about it clearly - but that's not really their fault in a lot of cases.

I'm not sure 'we' have a religion. It's mostly because we aren't a theocracy with an Imam at the top. Nothing more dangerous than a man on a mission from god.

He does have it figured out.......we are too stupid to understand

I'm not saying anything of the sort. You come on here and call me a clown, you say I have issues, and then you spin it like I'm the one acting like people with differing opinions are stupid.

In this case, Party A can't kill 1 million but Party B can kill all of Party A

The very fact that we are not a Muslim country is all the religious reason they need. They see the US as "The Great Satan" for several reasons; our close ties to Israel, our Christian leanings, and our "unholy lifestyles".
