Ukraine of all the places the plane came from. The thing is, with this closed regime, I doubt any international agency will be able to look at the wreckage and everyone will have to accept face value of the regime. They sure as heck are not going to admit folly at a time like this.

Just shows how incapable Iran is of really anything. Shoot the first plane they see after "hearing reports of F35's scrambling" and then take their most technologically advanced rockets and drop them in fields..

The plane at least looked somewhat controlled as it crashed so maybe a mechanical problem. If anything was related to the Iranians, it would be them planting something or doing something with the engines during maintenance maybe. It would make them look very stupid to down a plane with 80 something Iranians on board.

Perhaps if you could articulate why pulling back from the Syria/Turkey border was "stupid" - that is, the pros and cons of continuing a policy putting us in direct conflict with a NATO ally, continuing the decades long practice of making promises to Kurds (some of them terrorist forces themselves) we'll never keep, and getting drawn into Syria (which we never should have been involved in) after Obama ceded it to Russia anyway - then maybe, just maybe, you'll have a point.
