There was a misunderstanding. I was pointing out that discourse during the time of those presidents and all the others listed got worse and worse. Perhaps I did not explain well enough. No worries.

The hospital finally admitted responsibility and settled 6 years later. I fail to see where i wasn't taking responsibility but instead offer that my contact was changed without my input by Chase due to new regulations, the responsibility lies elsewhere. I would have never applied for assistance. The banks previous practice changed and they required it.

What amazes me ... and maybe one of the legal beagles here can explain it ... is that financial institutions constantly and unilaterally change contracts by simply sending out a statement that we are doing this ... I always thought that the purpose of a contract was to put in terms the obligations of each side - not a piece of paper giving one side the address they need to tell the other side what the new deal is.
