For the most part, I agree with you. Not all soldiers are patriots though. Some do join for other reasons

People enlist for any of a number of reasons. That does not change the fact that soldiers are trained to follow orders. They do not get to choose where they are sent or who they are told to fight. "No" is not an option. Object to politics and politicians whose decisions lead us into pointless wars all you want, but blame should not fall on those who serve in the military.

I see democrats (and republicans) asking for evidence of the often stated claims of imminent threat and 4 embassies being targeted.

The truth is this...General Soleimani through his proxy’s assaulted our embassy. American lives were placed in danger. It was likely a first run at an even bigger operation. That’s how these things go a lot of times. So we took him out in big fashion and sent an undeniably clear message. It’s really irrelevant if it was one, two or ten embassies the US thought were in imminent danger. The first one should be the last one as far as I’m concerned and I hope our actions made damn sure of it. Put everyone else on notice...mess with the bull, you get the effing horns.

Republicans and Democrats are on the same side of high deficits, unwinnable wars, unaffordable healthcare, second-rate infrastructure, and so on. In the Middle East, Republicans, Democrats, and our soldiers are loyal to Saudi Arabia, Israel, Halliburton, etc. at the expense of the USA.

Try to understand cause and effect. Our society demands free stuff ... just as it was predicted a couple of centuries ago that democracies will fail when people learn to use their vote to empty the treasury. We just have to use "representatives" since we are a republic. A fiscal conservative stands no chance of winning an election against the guy "bringing home the bacon". In this one respect - spending, politicians do actually listen to the electorate. The electorate has to change, and that doesn't seem likely.

As far as wars go, I agree. However a large part of our "deliveries" are made in the USA, and transported and delivered by Americans using US built equipment. That's probably far more stimulating to our economy than the last (or any other) D stimulus program - not that either are a good use of tax dollars.
