US may have killed Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani

Do you know who likes war because of the profit it brings? Rich white people. Do you know whose children overwhelmingly don't sacrifice their lives in those wars? Rich white people.

Protests are highly understandable. It'll be the protestors sons, daughters, cousins, friends who are in the front lines. Put yourself in their shoes for a moment. Empathy and understanding aren't defects; lack of both traits are.
Sigh. Could you cut the schtick about educators? The overwhelming majority of us are hard working people who teach what we're paid to teach, try to give our students memorable experiences applying what they've learned, and keep our politics of the classroom.

The constant harassment because of one tenth of one percent being idiots is demoralizing and it's perniciously killing the profession.
So, who taught you to racist-generalize about rich white people? At least you keep it out of the classroom, I guess.

As I said earlier - four decades of doing it the other way hasn't changed squat. It may not be couth or play well at the cocktail parties but it is the language our adversaries use. Why expect them to adapt to our culture?

This is where I am. I spent some time overseas for my job and it’s just the culture. Most of the locals will give you the shirt off their back to help, but when it comes to this stuff they only understand force. Nothing against them really, it’s just culture and ingrained. We won’t hit religious sites and we aren’t putting boots on the ground in Iran...but we can lob missiles into apartment windows from hundreds of miles away with no warning. We shouldn’t be bashful about our willingness to do so.

So, who taught you to racist-generalize about rich white people? At least you keep it out of the classroom, I guess.

All the generalization about various classes of people here, and I get called out? Sorry, I'll make sure to balance it by making snide remarks about Dims and America-hating liberals and everyone who needs government assistance is a waste of life. There, better? Do I fit in now?

I am in teacher preparation. I had twelve student teachers or half time interns under my care this past semester.

The last day of class, I pointed at the door and told them they needed to walk out and not come back this spring if they don't plan on giving every bit of themselves to their students when they get to the classroom. I was dead serious. I think I hit my fist on the lecturn at one point.

If you're not going to kick ass, stay out of my profession. If you want a steady paycheck and no real challenge, someone has to bag groceries at Kroger.

Blessings to your daughter. I wish her grace and strength - and sanity for you!

I respect the passion but feel it’s going to end up making her bitter. She’s at a title 9 (think that’s right, poor school) and she probably spends close to a 1/4 of her income on supplies and such. Not to mention what my wife and I donate. Plus she works stupid hours during the school year.

I say, to hell with that. She is an employee and if the county and the little future felons parents don’t give a **** she shouldn’t either.

My Pop begged me to go into coaching when I was 18yrs old...I said nah there's no money in it and I wanna make a difference....so I joined the USAF as an enlisted guy lol.

Yep. I called you out for that.

You should stop worrying so much about fitting in and getting called out, and more about what you're called out for. If other people get away with stupid ****, it doesn't excuse your stupid ****, especially when your liberal, racist, stupid **** is a preface to your "us educators aren't liberal indoctrination camps, so stop your stupid ****" call-out.

I left because of the politics.

I was a middle school band director for 14 years. Built a program from 50 kids to almost 120. I missed half the spring semester in 2013 after losing my right leg to septic shock, came back in a wheelchair and taught the whole 13-14 year. Took both my bands to judging that year and the kids brought home straight top scores. I was rewarded with a Needs Improvement rating because of the school's 6th Grade Math score was too low. Missed out on a bonus because of a class I never taught that had been randomly assigned as my Value Added rating. The state DoE rep shrugged and said "Too bad, that's how it works right now." I started planning my exit and a year later accepted a PhD assistantship out of state.

I can never teach in Tennessee again because of that stain. A principal puts my name in the system and pulls it up and sees two years of Needs Improvement and my application goes in the trash.

Tell us or the appropriate Congressional committees?
He’s already been defined a terrorist by 3 different POTUS’s. Are we expecting them to ask for approval, or heads up, on high target individuals? We should never drown strike US citizens even if they are fighting with the terrorists. They deserve due process.

I should have used oligarchs. Can't walk it back.

And if you're using liberal as a derogatory term, you're every bit as messed up as you believe I am. And thanks for proving the purity litmus tests I've talked about.

No but if the E-branch has intelligence that he was planning attacks as they claim then it should be shared with the appropriate Congressional committees. It's not due process; it's checks and balances

I'm not using liberal as a person-term. I'm using it as a worldview description. Try again.

The military is great. If I weren't half blind, half deaf, and flat-footed, I probably would have gone that route. I encourage my students to do it when I can.

Then hold them accountable, you as a peer and the University are the only ones who can hold them accountable.

To hell with that. I’m sorry that you got treated that way and the possibility of my daughter getting the same treatment just reinforces my desire to get her out of the profession.

Classical liberal worldview? You bet. I'll own that one wholeheartedly.
There is a huge difference between classical liberalism and modern liberalism. I think you know that.

But nonetheless, if you can't see the difference between referencing an ideology as a descriptor, and a racist-generalization, then I can't help you.

Good evening.
