I'd honestly be interested to know how much Congress knew about the Bin Laden raid? I'm glad we did it, but given operational security, was Congress consulted? I highly doubt they were. And we basically invaded an ally nation to pull that off. Yet no complaints from the left.
The Irish times? lol.the new take on Soleimani...he was a dumb a@@. IOW downplay the threat he posed.
Tehran’s overrated military strategist made many political miscalculations
Deflection. Are you actually asking me that question or are you suggesting you should read the report. There were no complaints for killing Bin Laden from me. Should I complain about it? If it was the same you might have a point, but you don't. Should we have expected Pakistan or his home country of Saudi Arabia to avenge his death?

Another impeachment coming?Trump said he ordered the strike due to an imminent threat from Soleimani. This is why the timing is what it was, and why he did not advise Congress. His administration repeated that assertion over the weekend. The administration said this was urgent and had to be done now, that advisors even flew down to Mar-a-lago to brief Trump on the need to strike now.
Trump and his administration thereby set the standard for his decision.
I said at the time and say again, I am perfectly willing to accept the possibility that its true, that there was an attack on the immediate horizon (I'd say days or weeks) such that the best way to prevent it was to assassinate Soleimani. But if, in fact, there was no such imminent threat, then it becomes painfully obvious what this was about, and the nation simply cannot tolerate that.
