US may have killed Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani

Gaddafi was the head of his government when Reagan bombed his home.

And I imagine there was a complaint about that, right? And was Reagan at the time impeached, facing a trial in the Senate?

Most of you clowns had never heard of this guy before New Year's and now you guys are claiming emphatically that he was the baddest man on the block.

Good. Perhaps he will shed some light on the imminent threat that TRUMP HIMSELF claimed as the reason to act.

He pretty much is saying that we are not leaving Iraq and the vote to remove us was basically a forced vote. The Iraq PM says to get out and Trump has threatened sanctions on Iraq. He doesn't want to get into any details.

US Defense Secretary Mark Esper rejected the suggestion that the US killed Iranian general Qasem Soleimani without sufficient evidence of an imminent attack, telling CNN's Christiane Amanpour "the evidence was more than razor-thin."

Wait, now Soleimani was the world's leading sponsor of terrorism?

How do these Saudis escape such scrutiny?

Trump has only authorized one drone strike in his entire presidency? Would like to see the source on those numbers. Thre govt still reports those numbers right???

All of those are a bit of a stretch to compare to this.

But take a step back. I think the discussion illustrates why this is so dangerous. In this case, we have Trump facing impeachment, and he has shown a willingness to, at a bare minimum, bend the rules when it comes to foreign policy and military matters when he thinks it benefits him politically.

Can you see why, given our discussion, those of us who might be a bit skeptical of Trump don't think it wise to have Trump be the arbiter of whether Soleimani more fit the definition of terrorist versus government official? Its just a little too convenient to have Trump make that call.

Well since both Bush and Obama designated him a terrorist I don't think Trump was being the arbiter of what he was.

So what you are saying is that any POTUS facing impeachment should take no military action until impeachment is resolved? Should Bill Clinton have held off on operation Desert Fox? Forgot that one didn't ya?

Yep, the Libyan government complained. Lucky for Qaddafi, he was tipped off by a phone call from Italy's PM.

Good thing Nan didn't know about this one so she could call Soleimani.

I get your point but what does it matter if he was the worst or in the top 5? He was caught red handed in a foreign country working against our interests and coordinating attacks, he's not doing that any longer.

Under Obama, all of these people died. Under Trump, none died. Well, the homeless in California would be glad to hear what Trump has to say, but not Lopez. He sponsors terror I guess?🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🥶

The elephant in the room is most of these Congress Democrats have taken money from Iran and the nuclear deal. Nothing more and nothing less.

They don't give two 💩's about this guy. They do care about that money not continuing to come in though.
