I asked this earlier. What has the guard actually done while they have been there? Name one thing. They are a prop in a political theater play.

I dont know. Maybe the guard's presence deterred people from showing up on March 4. Maybe nobody would have shown up anyway. If I were in the guard I'd probably answer that I stood around a lot.

There have been plenty of times that congress has been heckled by protesters - generally from the left. The Viet Nam anti-war protesters were pretty vocal back in the day, but apparently congress had bigger balls then and kept rolling.
