USC fans talking crap about Tennessee

It's not the same situation and you know it.

of course it is. before the 1908 earthquake it wasn't assumed that california was an earthquake zone. now that we know nashville is a flood zone by your theory the next one shouldn't count. all i know is everyone get's the fed bailout so i don't see why the state that pays the most in taxes every year shouldn't get it's fair share. one massive earthquake every 20 years is hardly going to bankrupt the country.

Ok, fair enough.

You've got it backwards. The rest of the country already pays more than California's share. Californians should fix their own disaster/embarrassment of a state with it's large amount of self-inflicted problems and stop whining for more money.

you are wrong. california pays far more than it's per capita share of income taxes. and i do agree california is screwed as a state, but that hasn't nothing to do with the federal imbalance when it comes to taxes paid by the residents versus revenue paid by the federal govt.

Don't throw facts at the Gator. That's just unfair.

The San Andreas Fault was identified in 1895.

Do Californians need more than 115 years to plan and adjust ? Of course not, the rest of the taxpayers will pay to rebuild the schools and hospitals for the illegal aliens and the US citizens that will whine.

FYI, I feel the same about hurricanes and beachfront property as well as riverfront/lakefront property and floods.

the earthquake codes in california are very good. this is why during hte northridge quake in 1993 the overwelming majority of deaths came from one apartment building collapsing. it would likely take a once in a multiple generation earthquake to cause any major damage that would milk the rest of america. the fact is that disasters happen everywhere. i don't for a second believe california has gotten a higher % per capita of federal money for disasters than other states. the fact is the US is way too crowded to force people to only live in places that don't have a history of natural disasters.

Percapita + illegals... probably not. Per capita...probably.

I do agree regarding federal disaster $. However, I'll bet your state soaks up more federal $ per capita and causes more federal problems per capita than any other state, IMO.

IMO, if you have a $200,000+ beachfront/lakefront/riverfront/mountainside residence and a natural disaster destroys it, then call your PRIVATE insurance agent or pay for another yourself. Period.

And sc fans can enjoy the misery and negative spotlight that is monte's kid and probation.

Violate On !

I don't know if you guys have noticed, but folks here in Nashville are not out crying that the federal government should be here to help. I don't know how many times the President has been to the region or how many helicopter rides he has taken. People here are pretty much taken care of each other. Churches are helping everywhere and people are raising money from the Middle Tennessee area to help Middle Tennessee people. I'm proud of that.

Is this the crap USC fans were talking like the thread title suggested?
