I don't know if there will ever be a more perfectly Pat Haden moment in history than pulling the head coach off of the team bus, firing him, refusing to let him back onto the bus to get his back, and saying goodbye.

Pat Haden and Lane Kiffin deserve each other. They'll be reunited shortly when Haden's fired, too.

If they do not think that Gruden was negotiating the UT job, then explain to me just who was Dave Hart talking to for three weeks while not even sniffing at any other coach? Hart only started interviewing other coaches after he failed to get the backing for Gruden. And if he did just wait three weeks to start interviewing other coaches then he should be fired.

You leave a program balls hanging in the wind where there's no way to hire a quality replacement, poach recruits on the way out the door, and even have ESPN talking about how low class and unheard of your move was then you're gonna have folks mad at you for good reason. It ain't that he left it was how he left, the timing, and what he did on the way out, and also the fact that he was and has always been an arrogant POS.

The man deserved his comeuppance and he got it.

I just realized Pat Haden has now fired 2 ex-Tennessee coaches this calendar year; Kiffin and Kevin O'Neill in January. And both were in season after bad starts.
