This will be the year other fans and myself will seriously judge CBJ and our players.

Will our new recruits make a big difference?.
Will opponents run up 50 points on us again?.

2014 will be the start of a new era or else.

Buy a book about football.

Heh...2013 was our start.

Showed improvement beating a ranked opp and playing another toe to toe....then stumbled all over ourselves down the stretch.

That stretch run is whats gotta change in 14....imo.

Yeah, any bowl for improvement. government mule understands. Walking on water is not expected, nor should it be.

The thing I hope for most is an attitude adjustment among the remaining upperclass who needed it. I never ever want to hear some of the players just checking off the rep cards in S&C.

About 90% of the two deep is going to be made up of underclassmen and most of them will have never played a down of major college football. Only an idiot would realistically expect something better than a 6-6 regular season.

Yeah, when Butch was first hired, it was "don't make any judgements until he coaches a game."

During the season, it was "you can't say anything until he finishes the season."

Now, it's "wait until year two and see what his new recruits can do."

Then, it will be "you can't judge anything until the recruits are upperclassmen."

and on. and on.

Seasons end. Excuses are forever.

I hate to ask but what is a "bamer"?

Short definition.....A knuckle dragging, wife/sister beating, tea baggin, tree poisoning, plaid wearing (they call it houndstooth), no teeth having, bear worshipping, cheating, lying, crimsoneck.

Board rules prohibit full definition.

Exactly.
No more excuses.
In 2014 we expect real progress.

You are 100% wrong.

Sick of seeing UT like this. We are better. We are proud.
This madness has gone on too long.
The time for change is NOW!.

Did you quote that from a post from Fall, 2008?

You're right, changing coaching staffs now will ensure our rightful place among college football's elite, because the only path to success is swapping coaches every year. It worked for...... Hmmm NOBODY!

Based on the recruiting class, we have seen progress from day 1.

(Posted this in another thread, thought it was appropriate for this thread)

The talent pool is looking better with the upcoming recruiting class. They are however going to need a year to develop. Hopefully some can contribute right away. Hope Volnation understands 2014 could be painfully hard to watch. The new systems CBJ has in place should be better excecuted this year and there should be a few surprises but this is still a year away from having the depth and maturity we need to compete on a level to compete in the SEC. IMO :peace2:

Well, we did get outrecruited by Vanderbilt in his first recruiting class, so I wouldn't say that was an inspiring accomplishment. I am interested in seeing where 2014's class ends up. Hoping for the best, but every time I come on here it seems, I hear about more commitments possibly flipping to other schools.

You are stretching to find any negative information you can with your reference to last years recruiting class falling under Coach Jones and I think you are aware of it.

Of course, with this years class anything can happen and we will have to wait and see. I prefer to refrain from drawing a conclusion until I have enough relevant information to make it worth my time. You of course, are free to draw your own any way you choose.:hi:

Huh? Stretching? He had as much time to put that first class together as most first year coaches have.

I'm not counting this year's class as a positive yet, until it's actually signed and I see where we finish in regards to the rest of the SEC.

YES. I don't see many redshirts from this class.

NO. With Maggitt back and a secondary with more experience and options, we will hopefully be able to eliminate these blowouts and be more competitive.

I think we should win seven games next season. Were better at every position and have more depth except offensive line.

He became the coach in December, how does that equate to having the same amount of time as most other coaches? I can tell you don't keep up with recruiting, because that's absolutely not true. Most coaches start offering players 1-2 years in advance, CBJ had a little over a month to salvage his first recruiting class.

As far as this year, we already have two five stars in campus (Hurd and Malone) as well as the #2 JUCO receiver. This class will end up in the top ten in the country at worst, seeing as how only 3-4 of our 33 commits are even remotely interested in hearing from other schools. And here's another fun fact for you, UT has the most EE's in the country at 14.

For the love of God stop spreading your negativity everywhere.

EDIT: You said the same amount of time as first year coaches, which is virtually true, however, only one new coach ended up putting together a better class than CBJ did last year, and that was Gus Malzahn.

I think Dobbs will be the starting quarterback in 2014 and that CBJ and his staff might move some current players to different positions for 2014. UT has a brutal schedule next season and at this time, I would take a 7-5 season and a bowl invitation.
