'20 UT ILB Noah Sewell (Oregon commit)

Probably so, I’m just gonna see what he does with the guys he has recruited, probably prove me wrong.
I don't believe we're disagreeing.
If he turns in to a 9 win coach, that's severely underachieving with their talent. But it's still enough to be a major player in recruiting when the home state is Ga.

We’re not disagreeing at all. Georgia has been hauling them in for three years, I don’t know what Smart will do with the full roster of his recruits when he gets them. We’ve already seen what can happen when you recruit well, but don’t develop, accurately assess what position a player needs to be placed in. You’re right, if Smart squanders away the talent on roster, underachievement.

I'm curious. I haven't been impressed with in game coaching but have no clue on development. As in don't know how much he's personally involved vs his assistants.
Be something to keep an eye on.

they lost alot of production on offense and defense from last year.

Lost the majority of their RB's, lost a big production on defense, dismissed their number one receiver coming back, and have a new OC, I could see losing to some of the tougher teams on their schedule.
This would have been accurate, last year at this time. This is the first year that Kirby’s recruits are upperclassmen, all those young pups on the OL are finally maturing. Last year was a rebuilding year, lost the heart of the offense and defense last year plus all the leadership might have been the best UGA has had.

Lost two RBs to the NFL previous year and replaced them with two more RBs that had 1,000 yard seasons. Holyfield is the only RB not returning. On D, Stokes is replacing Baker. He was ranked 2nd in the league last year. The defense is expected to be better this year (according to Steele and others).

Now, first off Holloman wasn’t the #1 WR last year, he was the one returning with the most production coming back. WR is the one spot where guys will have to step up. Talented guys, but sometimes that shows up at the next level, sometimes it doesn’t. 3 WR coming in where ranked top 10. Definitely a point of concern however.

👀 TaeTay on that list!

That’s one of the things I’ve been curious about also. Don’t know, but it’s awful telling that Chaney left to come here in a lateral move. Sure, he loves it here, what’s not to love? Seriously though, only two reasons you leave a job, moving up or unhappy. 🤷‍♀️. I haven’t been sold on Smart as a in game coach from the get go. Has always been just a hunch on my part, but it doesn’t matter what I think.

Chaney wasn’t happy at all since Coley got bumped to Co-OC, Coley got put over the QBs and Chaney over the TEs. Can’t blame him.

True, don’t blame him, worked out for us, I wouldn’t like it either, but I’m a very competitive person, sometimes to my detriment, I know Coley got bumped to Co-OC, like you said and caused some angst, it just seemed too easy for Chaney to make a move then. I’m just not sold on Smart, like I said, doesn’t matter what I think.

Would really love to see Ga take a step back this year but doubt it happens
I believe I heard the same thing said quite often when Richt was there. I think Kirby is an used car salesman and hope he runs that program straight into the ground. Never been a UGA hater, but Kirby brings out the Hyde in me.

Yeah, unfortunately they replace all those guys with 5 stars. But they will be less experienced. Would love to beat them in the 4th by a false start called on Mays followed by Fromm throwing an INT to Gibbs to seal the game for the Vols

Que the dawgs....yall can only beat us with our own players

My only problem is he blows whole game plan in first half with no new wrinkles in second half and good teams make adjustments and shut him down....just my opinion

You aren’t the only one with that opinion, I do think he has a good game plan going into games but once the other team adjusts (2nd half), he doesn’t adjust but honestly that can be said of many. So, not a huge deal.

So, that’s not my beef. My beef was in the red zone, all 3 years. You’ve got these RBs, this OL and instead of running 2/3 of the time in the RZ, stats show he would call passing plays instead, that will lead you to being 109th in the RZ. No reason for a team who avg 37 ppg to struggle that bad in the RZ. Go back and watch any game when Kirby is losing it screaming into the headset (not a fan btw), there is only one coach he would scream at, and it was for calls inside the opp 20/25 yard line, trying to reinvent the wheel.
