UT is #2 seed in Midwest, play St Peters Thurs 9:20pm (TNT) in Charlotte

Colorado State could easily beat Texas. CSU is 6-7 in Quad 1 games, including a 21-point decimation of Creighton on a neutral floor.
I’ve been trying to tell everyone we got very unlucky with Colorado state on our bracket side. They smoked Virginia and their best player Isiah Steven’s had a bad game

They got Cinderella written all over them. Perfectly set up.

Here’s a recent article highlighting the Zeigler rivalry in preparation for the Saint Peters game:

Apparently Zakai called his brother right after the matchup was announced, first thing he said is: “I hate that I got to whoop you like this, but it is crazy we get to play against each other.”

Hilarious. Hope he stays composed and can give us a solid game.

A big key to the NCAA tourney is playing loose and free--blocking out all the noise and the hype. When you play tight because it's the big tourney,
or because your opponent is making some shots, you're asking for trouble. This is the one thing that underdogs always have going for them--they've got nothing to lose, and they know it and so they tend to play freely. They may not play well, but they don't often play tight because nobody expects them to win. The big challenge for favorites is to just go out and play like it's an intrasquad scrimmage. Some team can do it, some can't.

Watched some highlights from Saint Peters playing Rutgers earlier this season... Rutgers pretty much passed it in to their big most possessions and dominated the game from the inside.

Playing through Aidoo and/or Awaka should overwhelm them. Part of me is critical of our outside shooting lately... might make more sense to initiate our offense in the paint.
Aidoo will need to play physical and look to score and rebound.

Saint Peters also has some quick guards that can shoot, especially from 3, and can drive to the basket.
Our defense from ZZ, and Vescovi has to be on point. I can see Vescovi getting into foul trouble early if he tries to gamble or hand-check too much.

They seem like a team that if you keep the score close, they'll find a way to make big shots and take the lead late... which is how they made it through the MAAC tournament past Fairfield and Quinnipiac.
When we turn into a jump shooting team anybody can beat us. When we play inside out we can score on anyone.

I believe we’re going to smoke St. Peter’s!
19-13 with a very weak schedule.

Colorado State did not impress-Virginia is just plain bad

Haven’t looked at Texas yet

Colorado State looks like a solid team to me. Think they beat Texas and are plenty good enough to send us home in the round of 32.

6-7 in Q1 games to our 8-7. They had a few bad losses, but that’s a good team. Solid on both ends of the floor.

Don’t know what the numbers are but seems like whenever big programs like Texas, Virginia etc are highly seeded and barely made it in usually flame out quickly.

Texas is not good. Baylor was their only good win.

I think Purdue got a good draw. I think Oregon ends up beating South Carolina. Creighton win a close game against Akron. Texas ends up playing Colorado State, instead of Virginia, and wins. We beat Texas, but it's sloppy. We beat Oregon in sweet sixteen. Then lose to Purdue in elite eight. I liked watching us play them early in the season and I still think they'll probably beat us again. (As much as I'd love to see us beat them. Hope they prove me wrong.)

3 for 3 so far in our bracket.
