UT is #2 seed in Midwest, play St Peters Thurs 9:20pm (TNT) in Charlotte

I know this is the bball forum, and it's what people do, but to state that you know with any certainty what will happen past round 1 is comical. The good guys could fall in round 2, or they could win it all. I'm not all that dejected that we lost our last two games; in fact, it could be a good thing. We will definitely see our guys come out more focused and angry because of it. However, I am concerned that we're not getting offensive production from certain players. That absolutely has to change.

Thankfully it's 8:20 central. Probably means Saturday's start time is prime time
CBS only cares about ratings. The Saturday start times will have nothing to do with when you play Thursday.

They typically choose 1 of the 4 sites to feature at noon and then 2:30 or so. There aren’t any other games at this time. 2 of the Thursday/Saturday locations aren’t eastern time zone so I seriously doubt it would be them. So the only options are Charlotte and Pittsburgh.

I could definitely see CBS wanting to feature UNC and Texas/Tennessee if that’s the matchup. Of course, Kentucky is in Pittsburgh so that’s a possibility too. But don’t be surprised if we get early afternoon on Saturday.

We're playing on TNT Thursday. TNT might have the Saturday game as well. NC will be playing on CBS. It may be regionally exclusive first 2 rounds

Doesn’t mean we can’t be CBS on Saturday. Last year San Diego St and Furman played on Tru TV on Thursday, but then kicked off the Saturday schedule on CBS at noon.

But yeah, they could do the Pittsburgh games early on Saturday and we would be in the evening. Just depends what the matchups are.

Right on.

Maybe Auburn will have a 17 point lead at halftime in the Sweet 16? I don't know, just throwing numbers around here ,,,, but just for $hits and giggles, let's say the score will be 49-32 .... I mean, with a lead such as that .... There is no way in hell that Pearl would ever blow it ..... Right?
I really hated the UNC loss under Green as we absolutely should’ve won that game and let them come back on us without their best player down the stretch. That Ohio State collapse was worse. Just brutal. You have to have some thick skin to be a UT fan. I swear Auburn has a lucky charm in sports. It’s not a Pearl thing, it’s an Auburn thing. Their football team has had more major game-winning breaks than any 5 programs combined I’ve ever seen.

I prefer TNT and TBS the first couple of weekends. Seems like we've played more on CBS in the tournament though. I wouldn't give a damn if it was TVS with Bob Hammond and Joe Dean. "A little string music in Charlotte"

Watched some highlights from Saint Peters playing Rutgers earlier this season... Rutgers pretty much passed it in to their big most possessions and dominated the game from the inside.

Playing through Aidoo and/or Awaka should overwhelm them. Part of me is critical of our outside shooting lately... might make more sense to initiate our offense in the paint.
Aidoo will need to play physical and look to score and rebound.

Saint Peters also has some quick guards that can shoot, especially from 3, and can drive to the basket.
Our defense from ZZ, and Vescovi has to be on point. I can see Vescovi getting into foul trouble early if he tries to gamble or hand-check too much.

They seem like a team that if you keep the score close, they'll find a way to make big shots and take the lead late... which is how they made it through the MAAC tournament past Fairfield and Quinnipiac.
If we don’t roll these guys by 15+ look out for trouble on Saturday whoever we play. If Sv and JJJ dont score 10+ on the Peacocks nothing will change on Saturday for them and their inconsistency against strong power 5 competition. Hope they finally see the light. It would be so nice to see the at Kentucky JJJ and the early years SV. Go Vols!

I don’t know. I mean we barely beat Louisiana last year then spanked Duke. The year before we trounced Longwood and then got run by a bad Michigan team.

What are they teaching our youth these days?
Not math, that’s for sure. Most people I interview can’t even tell me the percent increase going from $10 to $15. Less than half the people get it. Sadly, the next level is going from $20 to $25 and less than 10% get that one, even with a calculator.

I think the team got high on their own supply to close out the year. Hopefully the naysayers and doubters has got them mad as hell and ready to fight. Thats a recipe for a run.

I mean rightfully so. That 4 game stretch had people talking about going 2-2 at best and we rip off the first 3 games easy peasy.....

Come back from 9 down vs Auburn (the best team in our closing 4 games) to win.
Come back from 10 on the road vs Bama
Pretty rough and easy game vs South Carolina to clinch the SEC and I think that is where we got maybe complacent.

To be fair, I love that we are 2 in the midwest than 1 in the West.

Honestly, I agree. I want this to be a statement game from both ends… just one of those games where we lock them up defensively and reclaim an offensive identity.

They are 305th in KenPom offense, they shouldn’t score more than 40 points against us if we play to our standard on defense. Fact is they haven’t won a single Q1 game.

They’re also undersized across the board compared to our team so they should get worn down from a physicality standpoint.

Yeah it does seem like we have a path if we can beat Purdue in a rematch or if they go down early
