I think for our sake, we should just hope for one team to blow the other out. Because if it's close, they will both stay ahead of us.

I love how LSU jumped us not having played a game yet.

LSU has and will continue to be touted as the countries favorite team to watch b/c of the hurricane. The media will do all they can to makes sure they succeed in becoming the story of the year in sports.

I would say 3 is as high as we will get this year probably after the Florida and LSU game we wont even be in the top 25

I don't think they would at this point Milo. There hasn't been enough ball played to merit keeping a one loss major ahead of a no loss major at this point.

I think we move up either way.

All we need to do is concentrate on winning. If we win out the other will wash out.

Of the teams ahead of us now, we play one, two play each other, and all of them have tough schedules left.

Also, we need to remember guys, the AP poll means absolutely squat this year.

It has no more merit than any other poll out there. The important ones are the coaches and the Harris.

So, in the coaches we have only 2 teams between us and the Rose Bowl if we win out.

Lets pull for Ohio St. to beat Texas, because after watching Oklahoma, I'm not sure they have a loss if it's not to Ohio St.

Michigan has a ton of games that are losable.

It's all in our hands.

So I take it that you are ready to throw the towel in? Fans with this attitude make me laugh. We will beat UF and LSU. Then you can get back on the wagon with the rest of us. :banghead: But don't worry I will VOLUNTEER to give you a hand to get back on board the Pasadena express.

the ap poll does matter though. that poll decides the national champion or one of them. the other poll can get us into the title.

I regard the AP Poll higher than I do the BCS...

And yes, OldVol I think a close, well-played game between Texas and Ohio State will keep them both ahead of us. This early in the season, a close loss to a top-10 team is a lot better than a close win to an unranked non-BCS team.

i can not ever remember saying i was on the wagon to start with, i am a basketball and baseball fan. The football team makes me sick, a program with all that talent can not do no better than they do is pathetic. The more games they lose the closer those coaches get kicked out, and then we get a real coaching staff. I am sure there are some very qualified coaches out there that would jump at the chance to come here. Besides what schools have tried to get any of our coaches other that Taylor, he is the only one. I here it from almost every UT fan i talk to, its time Fulmer and his cast left, there time has come and gone, ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!!!!

Am I the only person that thinks we play much better when we are not so full of ourselves? The fact remains that with the Vols schedule it is possible to lose one game and still go to the NC game.

Yep...

I think we need to remember the polls will not matter this season. If we go undefeated, we'll make the national championship. If we lose one, we can still win the SEC and try to make the Sugar Bowl.

I will see you sitting on the wagon after the Rose Bowl, if not before. :nener:
As far as getting rid of our coaches!? You must be smoking something illegal.

Personally i dont think there is a sure win out there for us with our schedule. If we went 6-5 or 7-4 i wouldnt be surprised nor should anybody else, there is 4 road games we could lose easily and even 1 or 2 at home that wouldnt surprise me. Undefeated, boy that would take a miracle with this team.

I am not quite that concerned. The talent is there. GA is the team that really scares me. They remind of 98 TN team.

We have too much talent to lose that many games.

If we do go barely above .500 this season, I think there will be some legit problems Fulmer will have to answer for. With the talent we've got, us losing as many as 3 games should be a dissappointment, anything more than that should be completely unacceptable.

If we lose maybe 3 or 4 maybe some of u Fulmer lovers might finally open your eyes and see we have a problem. It seems like he wins just enough to keep his highly overpayed job.

why does everybody think we are so much better than last year anyway, its the same bunch of guys this year that we had last, everybody knows that when u play ball at ut u usually do not get any better year to year, look at Casey Clausen for example

If "just enough" is a higher winning % than any other active coach, then "just enough" is good enough for me!
