I hope that tower on the practice facility is stable in wind bursts and guts. Wouldn't want another Notre dame incident.

As long as Butch doesn't make some kid with a camers climb a tower in gale force winds and/or during tornadic activity we should be good.

When is the new UC supposed to be finished?

The first phase, which is the bookstore, Career Services office space, and dining facilities will be complete summer 2014.

Phase two will not be complete until 2016. Phase two includes completing the dining areas, the auditorium and ballroom, student recreation areas, lounges, and meeting space.

Is the new dorm over by Andy Holt? (what it looks like to me)

EDIT: Actually....looks like its by Gibbs.

Is that the bus stop the one with a solar panel on top where you can charge phones, laptops, etc?

Yeah it is. Not sure if people actually use it though. Are students waiting long enough at the stop to justify charging electronics?

It's been 10 years since I've been on campus for anything other than a football game...starting to forget my bearings, other than how to get to the money wall, Neyland, TBA, or the TRec.

Actually, many years ago, UT wanted to build a new student center in the exact location where they are building the new dorm. Of course there were several fraternity houses and other privately owned homes on that block, that UT couldn't get their greedy little hands on.
It actually would make a better location for a student center due to its proximity to the residence halls. But oh well.
UT is definately making better architectural decisions with the newer buildings. The newer buildings around the Hill are impressive. The Baker building is nice, but is totally out of place right next to the strip. Facelifting the strip could do wonders to the campus perception.

Have they started the streetscaping project? Cumberland was supposed to be getting a makeover.

I believe it's still in the works. All the businesses were told to get ready for it a year ago- from what I heard from my future brother-in-law dealing with that and the awful rent was why B-dubs closed down.
