UT-UF at noon

i kinda of am,the Ole Ball Coach will have his Cocks ready to put it to the Wildcats

this will be the better game

and i will have to start drinking before noon, which is never a good thing :givemebeer::toast::run::td:

Idk... If those emoticons are any indication of what happens to you when you drink before noon I would only drink before noon haha

If people can't avoid drinking on Friday night to support the Vols in one of their biggest games of the year, that's really disappointing and likely a sign of burgeoning alcoholism.

In support of your position I hereby propose we do away with Friday night and call it early Saturday morning. That way we can drink for 18 hours vs the normal 4 to 6 hours. (The preceding statement is a sign of burgeoning smart a**ism)

Yea, but that was a night game. It's cooler at night and the fans are good and liquored up. This leads to a hostile environment. Shame ESPN took away our home field advantage

Have you been hiding under a rock? UT hasn't had much of a home field advantage against UF for about 40 years.

Since 1984 UT is 4-9 at home against UF.

I would like to think that if we are competitive in this game and show a real chance to win it, crowd noise is not going to be lacking. Over 100,000 fans, desperate to get this UF monkey off of our backs should be plenty rowdy.

I agree. It isn't going to take much for Neyland to start rocking with the streak on the line

I posted this on the tailgating board as well but traffic looks light over there.

Every year my buddies and I take a trip to a new college football town to take in the sites, sounds, and the game. We've been to Clemson, Alabama, Oregon, and FSU and we'll be in Knoxville on 10/3 to watch the Vols beat the Gators.

Are there any must sees, must eats around town? We'll watch the team and band march in before the game but other than that we don't have much planned.

Thanks for the input!

Noon games are the nut low. Totally changed my plans about going.....now we will watch it in the cove as opposed to getting up at 6am to head upriver. I guess USU was our only Vol Navy trip for the year. I took off the 4th for the Florida game in the homes it would be at a real gametime. Had no trouble selling my tickets though. Maybe next year we will be deserving of a couple more decent game times in the earlier part of the season.

Go Vols, give em hell we will be cheering from our cove on Tellico. A Noon game is not worth the $1200 or so in gas, food and beverage to make the trip at least for me.

Your loss, West Knoxville. After we "whip dey azz", you'll wish you had parked the boat and drove to the game. Ain't nothin' for some of us to make a 5 hour drive to be there for the Vols.

Vol Walk

Downtown, Market Square and Gay Street offer plenty of food and entertainment options. That area has really transformed into a great place to hang out on a weekend night over the past 6-10 years. Check out the Knoxville Dining thread in the Pub forum.

If you have the time, it will be a perfect weekend to see the smokies... Hike, drive the Dragon/Cherohala loop, visit Cades Cove. East TN at its prettiest.

Hope you guys enjoy your stay!

Maybe so. I only get one Saturday off a month with two off every 3rd month. My next one off is in November and just would rather spend the weekend in the cove with my family and friends than go to another game before it gets cold. I am glad you and many others drive from afar but I will be watching this one from the cove. I generally go to 3-4 games a year and will be making the trip to Columbia as well as going to Mizzou regardless of the game time.

I was torn about making this trip anyway and instead we are having an end of the summer party in the cove with all 10-12 boats in our group and watching the game there.

Its all good. Enjoy the family. We'll miss you, but selling your tickets to other Vols is an acceptable substitute. After the win, we'll want a report that all adults jumped in the lake in celebration. Certified flotation devices are optional.

checkerneyland.com is a real thing on twitter for this UT/FL game. If you are going to the game check the site for the color you are to wear. Spread the word.

My first post! GO VOLS!

Thanks for the info! Any where we have to eat before we leave town?
